The collar on the oversized suit jacket that she's wearing itches unbearably, and Riley has been counting down the minutes since she walked through the door on when she can leave again. But tonight isn't just about her and her allergies to high society. She's lived in that world. Despite her work, her field affords her a certain prestige, and puts her in the orbits of certain types of people who lived a life completely different to the one she led. This might be the first time that being a werewolf offered her that same access.
She saw Aria and Autumn as she had walked in through the doorway, caught sight of Avi toasting something with the glass in his hand, but the idea of approaching anyone felt like making a declaration she wasn't certain of. Instead, Riley turns towards the main area of the venue, wondering whether they can seamlessly blend into the crowd so they can gather information quietly. The packs and covens and clans are all putting their best foot forward tonight, and it's the first time Riley has truly seen anything like this on display. However, a familiar face she wasn't expecting makes her stop short, and she beelines towards Finlay like she thinks he might vanish into thin air.
"Fin?" The lanky photographer looks almost the same as when Riley had last seen him, at least a year or so ago on the other side of the country. "What are you doing here?" Here in Port Leiry, here in the middle of a supernatural cotillion? He doesn't smell dead, nor like a wolf, which leaves a few other options. "You here with someone?" / @finlayhall
