Anika thought about not telling Finleigh. She thought about keeping her true occupation from her for as long as possible, but it wasn’t fair to Finleigh. She couldn’t keep lying to her and at some point, it would have to come out. All she was doing by not telling her was delaying the inevitable and potentially making it worse. So she told her and her reaction was....expected.
Albeit she probably should have done it somewhere more private. Originally, her plan to tell her in public was so that a scene wouldn’t be made, but that was not happening, it seemed so she shushed her and pulled her into a more quiet spot. “Fin, please, hear me out,” she said, keeping her voice down, “It’s not like I just go kill people because I feel like it. Each of my targets has a very good reason to be on the list. They’re the worst of the worst.” And she enjoyed it, but Fin didn’t need to know that.
