The Farm Fresh Wedding in Falkland Sampler
This was tough picking a header image. This was my other option.
At the end of the night, we drove off into a field. The didn’t mind the rain at all, which is good. It was torrentially pouring like I’ve never seen on a wedding day. More about that at the end of this sneak peek, we’ll start in the morning when the sky was blue and all the detail shots were ready for me already!
That custom made box for the rings made me so happy. There was a few old buildings on the property, including a barn I had access to. One of the most epic dress shots of all time.
ANd of course, the guys need detail shots too.
Everything was coming together. I took a few more detail photos, then made my way inside.
This wedding had a bit of a twist – the bridal party were all family! Dad and the boys got ready in no time.
The boys were scrupulous, and looked impeccable when they were done. The girls were next.
There were only a few moments left to relax before the ceremony, and the boys did the best they could. But when your brothers want to play, you can’t relax for long!
The venue was incredible. Backyard weddings aren’t something I see every day – a backyard big enough for a wedding ceremony and a first dance isn’t exactly common. This one was huge.
And there ceremony was just beautiful. The look on his face when he first, saw her, than a touching sermon on the importance of marriage, and then the vows and first kiss.
Check out those fingerguns!
After family photos, it was time for a different kind of family formals. Bridal Party formals! There was this massive field, and I wanted to take full advantage.
After. some time with just the Bride and Groom. My favourite time. The clouds were storming up, giving me kind of a dramatic background.
We got a little sunlight too. I found this small alcove in the forest, and that’s where we took some of my favourite photos.
At the reception, the kids were bobbing for apples, and the first dance took place. That’s where I’ll have to leave you though.
This is just a sampler, 40 of the photos taken today. So a pretty big sampler!

The Westside Wedding Sampler
September 17th was a bright and sunny day after a week of rain, and that’s a good thing – we had constant sunshine on this beautiful day. This wedding takes place out on Westside Road, which is one of my favourite spots in the whole Okanagan to shoot. You’ll see why soon enough!
We start out, of course, with the details. And we’ve got a lot. Flowers by Vernon Flowers, and the arrangement was just stunning!
The eagle-eyed viewers will start to nice a westside theme.
This is a backyard wedding, which are quickly becoming my favourite weddings. Instead of hotel rooms, we had huge houses surrounded by thick forest today.
And before long, this fella was ready for his first look.
Over at the girls, we just just finishing up.
We had a first look at Fintry Park. In the huge field with the sun shining through, it was such a moment.
After the first look, we walked into an overgrown shed I had scouted out, which looked a lot better than it sounds.
Back at the house, many of the guests had already arrived. Ring security was on the job, keeping everyone in line.
The ceremony was so much fun. The vows, the expressions, and the guests made it such a memorable time. The sun sank lower, giving the whole scene this unreal backlit glow.
I’m getting really good at group photos.
After the ceremony, we took off to get a few photos before dinner. The sun was low, which makes for angular light. That’s something we’re always look for with photos. The shade makes the images pop, and it’s generally the most flattering light you can get.
We finished up, and headed to the hall. A little known fact is that my favourite two places for receptions is old church basements (I’m not kidding, they’re so photogenic!) and halls with really high roofs. This hall had this incredible old school vibe.
Unfortunately, this is where I’ll have to leave you. This is a just a sneak peek of the festivities we enjoyed yesterday. This sunny day in the heavy forests of westside.
This is quite a large sneak peek, at 62 images in total, but there’s more coming! In about three weeks. If you’d like to be notified when the album is ready, click here to be added to the list.
If you’d like to keep up with my work, feel free to give me a follow on instagram or facebook. Thanks for reading this far, and we’ll see you for the next sneak peek in a few weeks!

A Beautiful Backyard Wedding Sampler
This is a backyard wedding in West Kelowna. It’s a huge, lovely airBNB. Our formals took place in overgrown pockets of trees by the lake, and then our reception was at Marten Brewpub. If you haven’t been there, you need to go. It’s the best brisket in town.
At the start of the day, we began with our detail shots. I had a lot to work with, with so many good locations to choose from.
They guys were getting ready just up the road, at an interestingly shaped house.
Pretty soon we were ready for an epic wedding celebration.
Back at the venue, the flowers had just arrived. I took a few photos of it, and our bride prepared.
The ceremony was beautiful. Everyone had a beer in their hand, and stood watching the couple recite their vows. The processional went so well, we had a beaming bride and a tearful father.
We all travelled up the road for the formals. Since the ceremony was at 4pm, we managed to photograph the formals during sunset. It was perfect.
Then, some time with just the couple and I. We had a lot of places I wanted to take photos, and as a result I got them back to their reception late. Although I don’t take full responsibility, it’s not my fault if the bus driver doesn’t drive double the speed limit.
Unfortunately, though, this is where I’ll have to leave you. Keep in mind, this isn’t all the photos. This is a quite the sampler though, 30 of the photos taken today.
If you’d like to receive access to the photos once they’re done, please register here.
