“ you know, i’ve been hearing a rumor about this place. apparently the previous mayor suppressed a report proving that he was taking bribes from several unsavory characters.” hathor grinned at the young woman standing next to her. “a few days before he was supposed to leave office, several thousand dollars were withdrawn from his bank account and he was involved in a car accident several miles out of town. those several thousand dollars never turned up, i’ve read multiple articles about his wife claiming she’d never seen hide nor hair of the money.”
