Oh!! Something else I was gonna mention about U.S. High School: 9th graders (14 yrs) are called Freshmen, 10th graders are Sophomores, 11th graders are Juniors, and 12th graders are Seniors. Also for high school sports teams, the Varsity team is usually mostly Juniors and Seniors and an occasional advanced underclassman, and Junior Varsity (JV) is usually mostly Freshmen and Sophomores. :)

I knew about the names for the years (I actually did a year abroad in America if you would believe it - though it’s kinda hard to imagine becAUSE IM SO UNEDUCATED ON AMERICAN SCHOOLING GAH), but ahhhh thank you! I didn’t know that about Varsity ages - I didn’t know there was a JV! Also, another question (sorry!!), when does the school year start? It starts in September over here in the UK so I always get confused - but in America it can start in August, right?
just so you know most schools in america actually start middle school in 6th grade and not 5th grade (i've never heard of it starting in 5th so) but i don't know if thats even important.
