Week in music - w/c 10th Dec 2012

Had the pleasure to photograph Bettye LaVette (below) as she performed at the JazzCafe London for a review The Guardian newspaper was running. I highly recommend giving tracks "Let me down easy" and "Thankful N' Thoughtful" a listen to just immerse yourself in her powerful yet soulful voice.

Received a Last minute confirmation for Ellie's gig which I must say was a pleasant surprise. I'm a fan of the unique tonal range in her voice and her music which has some influences of electronic music, which can be heard in tracks like "Hanging On", "Atlantis" and "Figure 8" from her new Album - Halcyon. Brilliant lighting, performance and set!

Mixmag Live: Solomun - 14/12/12

Wrapped the week off shooting deep house DJ Solomun at Fire, London. Brilliant venue comprising of a number of arches and winding corridors needless to say I had to get my bearings right as I nearly got lost. Great vibe and sound!

Automatic & Exit Records head honcho dBridge, Italo-legend Alexander Robotnick, the new-but-old-skool sound of Lone,Radioactive Man aka Keith Tenniswood Live, Deep house god Mark E, Basenji performing their world exclusive live show, Rush-Hour's BNJMN Live , Turbo Records signing Matt Walsh and Wang resident Electro Elvis. If that isn't a line up then we don't know what is and to repeat: this is your LAST TIME to catch the sonic mind-bend that is Simian Mobile Disco Live in London this year alongside a line up of epic promotions.
