Some Basic Dispatch Codes
10-1 is call your quarters or other units
10-2 is return to quarters
10-3 is call dispatch on cellphone
10-4 is acknowledgement
10-5 is repeat message
10-6 is standby
10-7 is verify location or address
10-11 is radio TEST
10-12 is preliminary report
10-13 is Fire Marshall needs assistance
10-18 is all units return to quarters EXCEPT engine 1 and ladder
10-19 is all units return to quarters EXCEPT engine 1 or ladder
10-20 is proceed at a reduced speed
10-21 is brush fire
10-24 is auto fire
10-26 is food on stove (food or kitchen fire)
10-33 is odor of smoke
10-47 is police response (crowd control, directing traffic)
10-48 is police response for harassment (if firefighters/other first responders are being attacked)
10-60 is a major emergency response
10-70 is water relay needed
10-75 is notification of fire or other emergency
10-80 is hazardous materials incident
10-84 is units arrived at scene
10-85 is Fire Marshall requires additional units
10-86 is foam operation
10-91 is emergency, with FD not required
10-92 is Malicious false alarm (someone who may work at the FD could’ve called in or someone filed a false report for absolutely no reason)
