Being a firefighter
Firemen are people that have a very tough job and they will be trained in order to cope with all of the dangerous situations that their job might lead them into. And of course, because of the fact that our society is evolving, there are a lot of dangers that such people are exposed to. The materials and the structure of the buildings that are now built are very much different from what they used to be in the past and this will make the firefighter jobs a job that is not quite for everyone, but for those that are strong of will and are prepared to face anything they can in order to save the day. And if we take a look at the industry, we will realize that there are quite a few types of firemen out there. Each of them have their own abilities and specialties. For example, they can be trained in order to attack bush fires, to be the operators of certain machines and so on. There are some countries in which firemen are not even paid and they will only get to be volunteering for this work. Before you will be able to be a fireman, you will need to take the firefighter test. When it comes to those that will volunteer they will not be called in every situation, but in certain events only. As such, they will be announced of fires either through their pager, through their cell phone or any other means of communication they might have. Thus, they will know what to do and when to do it. When you are working as a fireman, you will need to stay in the Firefighter department office and when a situation will arise, you will need to take action immediately. Yet before you will become one, you will need to take the firefighter practice tests and after that, you will need to stay in the department for 20 hours a day, but you will be able to lead the life you would normally do at home, with the only difference that when someone calls, you will respond to his call swiftly. You can become an EMT if you don’t want to be a firefighter. You will just offer help to the ones that are injured and also your fellow firemen. You are also responsible to assessing the best route through which victims will be evacuated from the fire site.
