Anna scanned the pool deck until her eyes landed on a face that was not necessarily ‘new’ but newer than most. She remembered him from before he left of course--a silly thing for a human to do, but then again that was true for most things humans did--but the years he’d been gone had done him well: he was handsome, but most importantly, he was fresh meat and a human in a place few humans were ever allowed--or recommended--to go. Anna chose the pool chair next to him and, once she’d settled down, pushed up her sunglasses and raised an eyebrow at him. “The purpose of a pool party, Darling, is to get in the pool. Surely there are no fires you must attend to. There’s so much water being tossed around this town today, I can hardly step outside without sprouting a tail. ” Before Efe could respond, Anna had stopped a passing cabana boy. “Two drinks. My regular. And some food for our lovely guest here. We want to make sure he feels welcome, now don’t we?”
