TTB’s Fireside Sessions Begin Feb. 18
FDR used his Fireside Chats to help Americans through the Depression.
And now, TTB bring the Fireside Sessions to help music lovers through pandemic depression.
Billed as the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s “return to live performance after this unplanned, 10-month break,” the from-home virtual gigs begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Feb. 18 on Nugs.tv to “share TTB music with fans safely until we can get back on the road again.”
The series will run for six consecutive Thursdays.
The band promises new songs, fan favorites and “deeper cuts from the back of the songbook” as performed, not by the entire 12-piece, who could not get together all at once due to COVID restrictions, but “different configurations of musicians pulled together to create some unique and special performances for viewers.”
Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have been paying their band and crew their regular salaries since touring ground to a halt, but money is getting tight. They’ve set up a fund for people who can donate beyond the ticket price.
“This past year has been a challenge for so many of us, and musicians and crew members are no exception,” they said in a statement. “TTB is very proud to support the members of our touring family for this long, but after almost a full year without touring, we’re asking for your help to continue to do so.”
