so you're my go to for stiles meta / thoughts. what do you think / how do you feel about the return of void stiles?
the return of void stiles? no, no -- he didn’t leave in the first place. being possessed by a thousand year old demon of chaos and strife that brought beacon hills to its knees doesn’t leave a scar. it leaves a gaping wound in the center of his chest, vicious and unhealing and rotten; the parts of him that were stiles replaced with something less but something more. even scott noticed him teetering towards the edge of darkness ( you seem a little off ) -- and that’s because he is. he’s not quite stiles anymore, but he’s not possessed, either.
he can’t go from being i to we and then back again. he can’t come back from having a trickster spirit in his mind and merging with his soul -- until they became not two, but one -- a whole. i don’t think stiles was simply possessed and watching helplessly, forced to go along for the ride while the nogitsune brought down chaos on beacon hills. he felt it. he felt the control, the power, the warmth of blood on his fingers. he felt everything -- AND HE LIKED IT.
and it scares him sometimes, how much he likes it. how he still dreams about it ( how it should be nightmares but they’re not; they’re dreams. good dreams. ) and even craves it. the part of him that is still STILES wants to be good, wants to be the hero that his dad says he is and the friend that scott deserves. but it’s hard, it’s so hard.
he’s a teenage boy who was possessed by a nogitsune -- but lived. he tricked the trickster; and by doing so, became the trickster. but maybe that’s why theo came back, looking for VOID STILES and the rest of a pack surrounded by death: stiles stilinski isn’t quite what he used to be, but what he is now? it’s terrifying.
