This is apparently a favourite with Blackbirds, Robins and Waxwings. To humans, however, its thorns can cause painful, swollen and itchy wounds. And while the pulp of the berries is said to be used for making jams and jellies and is safe to eat, the small seeds within apparently contain cyanogenic glycosides and these can cause nausea and vomiting if consumed in large quantities. So let's be mindful of that.
