Why did it always come down to     training or fighting?!      Maka was exhausted,     once again,     and as she made her way back     to her hotel,     Maka barely had the strength     to roll her eyes     at the stupid comments     drunk men late at night could make.     She was just about to flip off     a casual     -- though well deserved --     bird to one man,     when she saw a familiar     mop of black hair     and crossed over to him,      head tilted curiously to one side. 

❝ Hey!!      What are you doing here??      You’re not going to      knock a tree on me again,      are you??  ❞

‘‘You’re even dumber than Yusuke!’’ he stared in disbelief, not able to believe that this guy just wrecked a large forest area during training! There’s a limit of being reckless!

Blue eyes were wide   and blue eyes were afraid…   The man in front of him didn’t seem all that B I G    but Floyd wasn’t stupid.    It didn’t take much   to take down the boy,    and even though he may have been bigger   in height,    Floyd had none of the attitude   that the other was dripping.    If he thought hard enough,    Floyd could just imagine the other…    the way he’d hit him   and yell at him   and probably make him cry…                oh please            don’t make him                  cry!!             everyone will                make fun                   of him!!   He took a small step back,    then another,    hands wringing in small and rather pathetic fists.    He wouldn’t use them…    he just didn’t know what to do with them.    Would putting them in his pockets be too much movement?   What about behind his back?   Crossing his chest?!    Thought after thought bubbled up in his mind,    drowning out any attempt at rational thought,    and making him a small blonde mess.                  Why didn’t he just                    wait at home?!                She would have been                      back soon!! ❝ Pl- Please don’t hurt me…  ❞Mumbled words.   Barely audible.    Soft words.    The words of child.    Even if he was 18. ❝ I - I -    I was just just looking for a friend!!     I thought she’d be here,   but, bu- but she’s not here    and now I’m rather lost…   But I can go away!!   Just please don’t hurt, Sir... ❞
