pls talk shit about that tutor and their bad opinions, i'm all about that

god okay, so like he’d been in italy for a while a few years back (perugia possibly?) and he like... brought it up a lot, and every once in a while he’d like spoon feed me italian info in this really weird way, right? like he’d mention something about italy and he’d be like IT’S LIKE THIS ISN’T THAT RIGHT SERENA like i had to validate it obviously

most of the time it wasn’t bad, and a few times i actually enjoyed sharing. i am guilty of Loving to hear myself talk, and Loving to talk about Italy to English people so I totally enabled him

except a couple of instances where i was just like Please Don’t, and the only one that’s coming to mind at the moment was when we were talking about a piece i’d just submitted (this was a creative writing class)

it was about an (Italian) girl in love with her straight best friend, and there was this line about the two ways to say I love you in Italian.

So of course this became a Teachable Italian Moment where I was prompted by my tutor to explain the difference between Ti voglio bene and Ti amo.

To which he added, “but like, ti voglio bene is less intense, isn’t it”

And I’m like, “um, no, I don’t think of it that way”

And he’s like “yeah, like, it’s more like I wish you well not really I love you.”

And here I am like mmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhh how about we don’t downplay the cultural significance of a phrase u kno nothing about clearly just a thought.

(It annoyed me especially because I’m someone who has never said ti amo to anybody and I felt that his comments were like? Cheapening my feelings for all the people I’ve said ti voglio bene to??? And I’ve said it to the Literally Most Important people in my life so I don’t need an English man to tell me I was just wishing them well or smth)

serè, because of you and penguin anon i had a dream in which i walked to the whsmith we have in paris with the sole purpose of getting a penguin but all they had was a bootleg and it was called PIGEON and tasted like cheap chocolate

Serious Senpai Advice: if driving is going to make you anxious and terrified, don't do it. talk to your parents abt it, maybe they can put the money away for later when you're ready? i felt the same as you at 18, now i am feeling much more comfortable with the idea and i'm thinking about getting a license for job reasons, but then i'm living in a city that's on its way to ban cars entirely by 2020 and i'm like 'what's even the point', haha

i’ve tried talking to them abt it but apparently?? this is non-negotiable??? they really really want me to get it and theres no way to make them change their mind im just gonna have to suck it up for now

!! thank u tbh i gotta thank tumblr for that!!! i kept seeing organization masterposts going around & decided to try getting a planner & it literally saved my life lmao

ohmygod S A M E like people just assume you do this stuff bc it's some kind of cute quirk when really it takes a lot of effort to discipline yourself to use the planner but then the other option is to DIE because everything is happening so much inside your head

YES EXACTLY my first & second year of hs i was like ‘no organization we die like chaos personified’ and then i realized that i was On The Road To Spontaneous Combustion Out Of Sheer Stress & finally got a planner also yes!! actually using it!!! takes so much effort!!! god!!
