I finally watched the latest Supernatural. I enjoyed the twisted retelling of that old story, loved the parallels they have strewn on Dean, even if I was a bit thrown by Lassiter's actor playing Cain.
But now I want to meet Abel.
Because that's Sam's parallel, and they've been lacing Sam with angelic grace all season. They tore it from him just as Dean earned his own brand. I want to meet the brother who was saved, who didn't want to be, not at that price. The brother who, for all he is clean and saved and elevated, was the seduced and the deceived. The brother who drowns in guilt and bleeds himself dry.
