hello fellow nanoers, fast drafters, and any other writer who needs it: i have a Tip. an excellent tip, if i do say so myself.
i was struggling with what to do here; i'm at a filler-ish scene, and my brain is not in the Mode for it, so to speak. After a lot of struggling, i realized what i could do:
{stuff happens here. Who cares. Its a first draft ok we’re moving on; CONVERSATION HAPPENS, then Ace leaves.}
^ that? that is allowed. yeah, it'll be annoying in the 2nd draft, but first drafts--especially nano ones--are meant for getting it DOWN. if a spot disrupts your Mood, it's better to just skip to where you need to be than to wreck your mood in favour of writing everything perfectly fleshed out and in order.
Angsty characters battling each other for the most angsty chapter. This is not productive, boys.
"There's rumors. That you, uhm, the wine." I nodded down at it, feeling myself blush. "That you put something in it; acid, or shrooms or...something." Now he smiled, dark lips pulling back over bright white chips, and there were chuckles from the surrounding women. "No. If that.." He nodded at the mere inches of dusky wine, "sends you on a trip, well it just means some god must love you." When he moved with the bottle to next girl, I heard more whispered out under his breath. Loud enough, he must have meant me to hear it. Or maybe not, maybe I was just pumping anxiety through my veins, heightened and too aware for my own good. "Or detest you." is what he murmured, and it made me run cold. I didn't even know what in god's name he was talking about, but it chilled me with goosebumps. I drained the glass without thinking, eyes ever on his back.
Late night draft - Aluka by game logic
Rahabim Aluka Overview: The Alukae of Clan Rahabim has been undisputed masters of Nosgoth’s waters for centuries and the humans’ little rebellion will not end it. The rabid resistance has brought the rare children of Rahab into this war. Vampires that has surpassed the impossible at the cost of sun sensitivity, the Alukae have long served as the clans’ saboteurs and supporters on the battlefield. One is dangerous, a ravenous pack is fatal, and no watery passage is too abstracting for them.
Primaries:
Lash - Repel the enemy with a swipe of the urumi.
Baneful Sting - The urumi’s lashing blades are lined with crippling poisons and faint blood marking for nearby vampires.
Harpoon - The razor-whips snatches a unfortunate prey into the Rahabim’s melee range or that of his fellows.
Leech - With a crack of his urumi, the wounded Rahabim pulls a opponent for a healing bite.
Secondary:
Early Fill - With the blood of the enemy filling the throat, the Aluka can heal the wounded.
Painful Distribution - Slicing his own membrane, a blood haze is given to the surrounding vampires by the cost of lesser healing.
Foul Sputter - Instead of blood, foul waters is sprayed upon the enemy into a murky blindness.
Poisoned Spit - With vampiric venom, the Aluka spits his foul water at his prey into a debilitating pain.
Executions:
Ravenous Snatch - Yanking the head back, the Aluka tears the jugular with powerful jaws lined with razor-sharp teeth and drink to their glorious spoils.
Kraken’s Snap - With skilled use of his urumi, the body is reeled in by the Aluka with a sickly snap to the neck for his own drink or passing to a nearby wounded vampire.
Armor Backgrounds: Aluka Armor - Weaved from the talons of the Rahabim artisans, this armor is art as much as protection.
Mariner Mantle - The Rahabim Mariners of Solomon are feared along the coastline as the empire’s symbol to its unhalting reach beyond even Nosgoth.
Nachtholm Scalemail - From the sunken town of Nachtholm, the elite Rahabim emerge from their secretive duties and join the fray with hunger in their eyes.
Imperial Guard - Protecting the Sanctuary of the Clan’s moats and rain-tunnels as well as historical importance, the Rahabim Imperial Guard are in the place of the greatest honour.
Evolved Rahabim - Behold the apex of Rahabim majesty and envy the greatest pain made boon.
