It's a great big night of fun and surprises for the September edition of First Friday Comedy. Kick off a long holiday weekend (Happy Labor Day, everybody) with the return of NYC's Clark Jones (as seen on SNL's "Digital Shorts" and TruTV) to headline. Clark was the first ever First Friday headliner back in 2015. Also on this show, we'll be saying goodbye to a great friend in the Knoxville comedy scene: RainShine co-producer and QED producer Matt Chadourne is leaving us for love and fortune in the United Kingdom. So, come on out and raise a toast with him as he makes us laugh one last time as a Scruffy City comic. Nashville's Bryce Damuth makes his First Friday debut, along with Knoxville's Eric Douglas. Our show this month is hosted by Shane Rhyne. As always, there will be delicious Saw Works beer on tap and this month the great folks from Wood Oven Eats will be on hand to help you satisfy your hunger. There is no cover. You must be 21 to attend. Get there early to get a seat. This one will fill up quickly. About Clark Jones: Clark Jones is a humorist originally from the south side of Chicago. After moving East, he performed in the New York Comedy Festival opening for Hannibal Buress at Skirball Theater, the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, and currently hosts Comedy at the Knitting Factory every Sunday at 9, named a top weekly show by TimeOut NY. He was named one of the top comics to watch by the New York Observer, acted in Andy Samberg’s “Digital Shorts” for Saturday Night LIVE, and was a guest on this season of Tru TV’s “Friends of the People.” He was also named one of Brooklyn's "50 Funniest People" by Brooklyn Magazine in 2016 He works in clubs throughout New York City, serving laughs about everything from shopping to political debates, and credits solid napping as a key to happiness.
Start the July 4 weekend with some comedy fireworks at Saw Works Brewing Company on Friday, July 1. The 14th edition of First Friday Comedy brings us performances from Wayne Cousins (Columbia, SC), Grace Holtz (Chattanooga, TN), John Gibson (Columbia, SC), along with Knoxville’s own Jake James and Daniel Wade. Sean Simoneau is our host for the evening.
