Imagining during their first time, Robby keeps him close and keeps humming to let Dennis know where he is because the poor boy refuses to open his eyes. Robby holding hard onto Dennis’s hips as he gets real deep inside him. Dennis’s eyes widening fast at the feeling because god it’s been so long since he’s done this. It’s so much and so good and he lets out a devastating whine before he spills all over himself.
The shame comes fast and he shutters but before he can really start to panic because he lasted a whole what? 5 minutes? Robby’s groaning. Looking down at the mess and just comes instantly because well fuck, Dennis just looks so pretty. Just like that sweetheart. So good.
Just know that some of these opinions were formed in the first 48 hours of haivng seem the movie in cinemas and the others were formed whilst refreshing my memory on the movie about 2 and a half weeks later because I got seriously ill.
Thoughts in order from the movie
It's long so bare with me
Seeing Neteyam again was nice, I missed him tbh
I'm sorry but where was the devils vortext this entire time??? I'm pretty sure when Tsireya showed them the spirit tree in atwowo that was not waht it fucking looked like, hella cool though
Spider and kiri were so obvious in the entire movie like c'mon man
Kiri pulling of Spiders mask had me freaking out like EXCUSE ME
Sorry but what the hell was jake thinking bringing all of those guns back to camp. I mean sure we don't want the RDA to get them again I guess, but...don't do that dude. You the left the Omatikaya who you rallied into an army for the saftey of the Metkayina and now you're bringing them guns too? I stand by the fact that going to Metkayina actually did nothing for the Sully's expect spread the war across Pandora.
LO'AK FIXING NEYTIRI'S BOW WAS THE CUTEST AND SWEETEST THING IN THE WORLD HE JUST WANTS TO BE LOVED.
Ngl I'm pretty sure quaritch was lost way before he met Varang or any of the Mangkwan...he was just hell bent on Jake, and as many problems as Jake caused I honestly don't think the RDA need him that badly. Sure it was good press when they caught him but I don't think he was as high on the prioity list aas he seemed
Jakes comments when he was fiddling with that explosive arrows were a low blow, he's hurt and he greives differently I get it but those comments were targets and false actually. Because he did bring a fucking prayer to a fight. He did it in the very first movie.
Neytiri was having such a hard time adjusting to being in a new place where she clearly didn't belong and now her son is dead, she really had no time to adjust at all to anything
I fucking love Payakan so much and the fact that James has said he wasn't supposed to be a big character is insane to me
SPIDERS MASK LOSING POWER IN THE NIGHT WAS NUTS. AND NEYTIRI JUST STANDING THERE. I KNEW SHE HID THE MASK FROM THE START THAT IS EVIL. And Jake clearly kniwing, giving her a look. But not...saying anything important or chastising? Like...how the fuck? I hated watching his little body seize like that...it was Jake in A1 all over agian.
Am I the only one who watched Spider just kinda plainly say "I'm ok" as him being like. "Sorry that's my fault please don't worry about me or percive me too much" Idk as someone who never really wanted to be percived because often my discomfort or hurt was "inconvinent" I really recognise what he was doing. He wasn't saying "I"m ok" because he was good he was trying to get them to stop worrying as quickly as possible.
The market scene with the wind trafers was actually so amazing, it's one of those little scenes that doesn't really hold any significance but it's part of the wider world building and character bonding and I just really like it. Watching Lo'ak follow Tsireya around to see all the things she wanted and Spider being silly. It's really cool and sweet
Jake deciding, almost on the spot to send Spider away the day the wind traders had come (or maybe even asking Tonowari about it days prior and setting something up then) is disgusting to me. Especially when he says that "this not a democracy, not a family" even as his kids beg and plead with him
The switch from "Jake" to "Mister Sully" actually broke me heart. What do you mean the boy who grew up with your family, who was raised (hardly) beside your kids and has form strong bonds with them is using formal terms with you as he begs. What the fuck is wrong with you Jake.
It is so clear from the get go how bad Jake is at being a dad and I won't make any excues. SO many adults say things like "well there isn't a hand book" "no one taught me how to be a parent" is so bullshit. All you have to do to be a good parent is to be a good person. First and foremost. Treat your kids like people no matter how young, because Tuk is 7 and clearly knows exactly what is going on. I hate how bad of a parent he is and he just got worse and worse. He was not made for having kids at all.
The windtrafers were the coolest ever, like are you kidding me? SKY PIRATES?!?! THEY ARE SO COOL
Jake is so fucing hard on Lo'ak. He's just downright rude, in the same way authortraian firgues uses respect as a measure of humanity. It's digusting. Jake. That is your son. Treat him like one, not like a solider
Ngl I kinda didn't just expect the Mangkwan to just show up like that...so they're just the Genocide Squad of pandora??? I didn't like that at all
Leaving Spider, Tuk and Kiri alone wasn't the worst move ever but sometimes I wish Lo'ak did listen. Jake is a bad dad but he seems to have been a good marine but...ugh whatever I can't even fault him he's trying his best.
Lo'ak's ikran dying was not what I thought was going to happen and to be honest I was so shocked it happened so easily and freely... like the fuck it's just gone
Spider shooting, not only once but twice at a mangkwan was actually nuts, there also ain't no way he tried to stab him too. THAT DUDE WAS THREE TIMES HIS SIZE AND HIS KNIFE IS FUCKING TINY THERE IS NO WAY HE WAS REALLY GOING TO FIGHT THAT DUDE. The lengths Spider has gone to in an attempt to keep people safe is admirable, he deserves so much better.
The fucking kamikaze Mangwkan rider was fucking nuts. What do you mean you are the fire?!!? DUDE!?!?
Neytiri is badass. That is MOTHER
Let me get this straight. Neytiri can get an arrow in a pretty signficant part of her body that has the potential to bleed a lot, and fall THOUDANDS OF FEET ONTO THE GROUND and she survives, but Tsu'tey doesn't? Idk man I'm just saying, she's got plot armour right now
I don't know why but I genuinely didn't think that cutting of the Kuru would straight up just kill a Na'vi. I thought they would just be really in pain for a while and then they would get depressed from being cut of from their world. Which is arguably worst but still, I did not think that's what would happen.
The way the camera stayed unfocused when Lo'ak killed one of his own people for the first time was a really cool effect. Varang then cutting the bullet out of them was fucking nuts
I love that everyone is trying to make sure Tuk is ok, making sure she's focusing on them or things that are stable. Helping her stay above water, holding her. It's all so sweet to see them caring about her
Quaritch really just will not leave Jake's ass alone (I don't ship them BUT JUST KISS ALREADY)
Spider really is just a barginging chip isn't he... wow
This whole movie was just a trauma show, like no one knows peace and no one make it out without at least one horrific injury.
Wathcing Kiri geet desperate like that is actually heartbreaking to the point where my neurodivergent ass couldn't deal with that. I mean I feel for you girl I get it but oh my god (but I guess that's props to Sigourney)
I wonder if Spider was concious whilst he was slowly running out of air in this moment or if the seven mintues without oxegen process has started. Yk how when you're bascially dead you still have 7 mintues before you're dead dead? Yeah I wonder if he knew about anything in these moments.
THE SCENE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!! IT WAS AMAZING SEEING SPIDER BREATH WITHOUT HIS MASK, SEEING IT FOR REAL I WAS SO EXCITED and slightly traumatised.
I love how I'm pretty sure he full on tried to bite Varang. Like sir please be serious right now lmfao
I was kind of surprised when I saw what Varang was like up close, they'd only shown her badass moment in the clips. I was really not expecting her to get afraid the way she did so often. I'm not critiqing her character or her actor I"m just saying that she felt a bit pathetic at times, which in hindsight after seeing the whole movie makes sense but I guess I just wasn't expecting it.
The jump cut to Quaritch showing her how to use the gun was stupidly funny.
Seeing Neytiri the way she was back at high camp actually broke my heart. Tarsem was so caring and Mo'at was right there for her daughter too. UGH MY HEART
I'm sorry but what was the purpose of getting Jake and Quaritch lie face to face so fucking close together? Like were you just trying to bait the toxic yaoi shippers james? You basically handded it to them on a silver platter
SO are we just not really going to adress all the things the kuru can do suddenly? I mean since when did it have enough muscle to move of will???
Jake and Quaritch were literally like "I'm tired, you're tired. Let's kill each other tomorrow instead" LIKE WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
"This world goes much deep than you can imagine" is such a hard line from a man who really didn't end up respecting that depth
I'm sorry having all those files up on Spider was just so creepy. Quaritch's obsession with Jake is military, it's about revenge and pride and strategy. But with Spider? It's honestly down right disgusting, he lets them do whatever he wants with them and as soon as they fail he swoops in to "save the day" as if he's the better option. It's obsessive and it's near predatory and I am sickened by the actions Quairtch takes to attempt to eprswade Spider. The emotinal manipulation is thick and I'm so glad Spider didn't choke on it.
I kinda thought we already hashed out what Kiri was? In subtext...I don't know why this conversation need to be had.
No offense but Norm and Max have no say over whether Kiri gets to connect to Ewya or not. Again their understand of her issues come from a mix of human science and pandoran botany, which isn't enough.
Jake flips back and forth a lot about how he feels about Spider. First he saves him when he suffocates in his sleep and then he sends him away, when they rescue the kids he tells Quaritch that he's an amazing kid and defends him when Neytiri says they should just kill him outright, but then he's completely incompassionate to Spider for bascially the rest of the movie and then tries TO KILL HIM. Jake explain yourself right now
Neytiri threatening Ronal was out of line, I don't care how hurt or frustrated she was in her recovery you cannot threaten a pregnant woman like that (or any one for that matter) let alone the Tsahik who is helping to heal those wounds. That was such an unjustified blow even if the two of them ahve barely been civil in the past.
Sending Paykan away was evil to me specifically (and loak)
Jake and Lo'aks fight should have been more explosive in my opinion and I can't believe Jake said what he did, you cannot blame him for that! YOu can't place that entire burden on Lo'ak! And then go off to drink?? What the fuck?
I'm glad we acknowledge that fact that Neytiri fell in love and had kids with someone who used to be human even if Jake is na'vi now but the fact that she admited she was actually ashamed because they are mix was not was I was expecting at all. What do you mean Neytiri??? God that was brushed over a little too quickly for my liking (btw jake that hug was an awful apology)
Lo'ak trying to kill himself was not on my bucket list but god fucking damn it was not a compelling scene. I feel like there are people there that might see this is a stupid or used for dramatic affect but when I tell you that it doesn't take much for people who are already low to jump to drastic conclusions being told that your worst fears are true that your dad blames you for your brothers death, yeah I'd probably shoot myself too. God I cried so hard. Especially when Tsireya and Kiri came to find him at the very end. I need to know how they knew.
Oh Spider bonding with and Ilu (and subsequently Kiri) was just too cute. Strange scene to cut to right after Lo'ak if imma be honestly but I'm not complaing that much
That whole scene with Varang and Quaritch in the middle of the mangkwan village was just...I've already spoken about it, it's just insane. BUT I WAS NOT EXPECTING A FUCKING DRUG TRIP?!?!!? THAT WAS SO WEIRD TO WATCH. I was sitting next an old couple the whole time and I'm just like...oh jesus.
I wish we got to see more about Ao'nung's, Tsireya and Spider's tattoos. You get those after something important, so why was there no context? No montage or story? Just nothing at all
LO'AK GIVING NEYTIRI BACK HER BOW WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO FLEETING, WHY WAS IT SLOW QUICK?!?!?
Ngl when Neytiri shows Jake her repaired bow I though he was going to throw it or smash it, I'm not kidding I was so unsure and untrusting of Jake holding something so precious.
Lo'ak is going through it, and he's really going through it alone huh...
THE KISS, OH MY FUCKING GOD THE KISS?!!?!? ARE YOU KIIDING ME. I JUST ABOUT FUCKING DIED WHEN THEY KISS. IT'S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE HAD A CANON ACCEPTANCE OF MY SHIP I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE LAST COUPLE I SHIPPED THAT WAS CANON AND NOW YO'URE TELLING ME WE HABE CONTENT?!?!
First impression: I liked it! There were so many fun moments (competitive crossword!!!). And at first the ending made me sad, but then seeing the last 8 min or so made me so happy. I'm a bit sad there wasn't another kiss, but also I get it. They're meant to be ace. You can have love without sex. Also omg they're married!!!
And it feels like a compromise between Aziraphale and Crowley to do what they did in the end. Also, time stopped. They could have spent another thousand years deciding what to ask God for. They could have spent a hundred thousand years there.
It reminded me of The Good Place (spoilers forthcoming! Watch out!)
Where at the end, people are just tired. And want another option. And also, this way Aziraphale and Crowley got to make it better for all the people they love. I think we also saw how angels and demons are all just trying to climb the ladder. It seemed they were ready to attempt a mutiny on Aziraphale. And Michael lost it with the book of life. There wasn't really a way to keep the old universe and avoid all the constant threats of war.
It reminds me of how Michael in the good place got to be human too. And how lovely for Crowley and Aziraphale! To never have to fall. Or agonize over lying to heaven. They just got to be human.
I really liked it. I feel like it makes sense and I totally get it. I am surprised that people are so upset (but also not). I do wish we got a whole season.
Also I love that Derek/Metatron encouraged Asa!!!! That was so sweet.
guys. the homestuck pilot was good. THE HOMESTUCK PILOT WAS GOOD!!!!!
I have a lot of thoughts and this is gonna be extra unorganized but here's my first impressions.
Predictably the animation is incredible. The entire dad fight was so exaggerated and expressive n I love that they are still keeping in the sylladex uses but not taking too much time with all the intricacies (as fun as they are) because halfway through the comic it just doesn't matter. I absolutely love Toby Fox as John, I can't explain why but it just works so well and he sounds like a shitty 13 yo and I adore it. As for the other VA's, what we've heard from Karkat is fun and Rose's is alright? I am a bit conflicted on Jade because I do like the voice but I just hope and pray it doesn't get people to think she's annoying :(
Dave and the Narrator are like my biggest problems honestly, Dave's VA just does not work for me. Similarly, the Narrator kind of pisses me off, he is just FAR too jovial and while I like the inclusion of them I wish it wasn't so grating. The title page just gets BUTCHERED here and it made me so sad.
The way they've done pesterlogs is pretty clever, and I love the inclusion of the tiny daves and jades n roses to convey their words with motion. I also think its smart timesaving wise, as you can have characters talking like a pesterlog while doing plot relevant stuff which they already did here several times.
The pacing is very fast and I think it'll be probably incredibly hard to follow for new viewers, but I think that was always inevitable. I'm very happy they didn't skip to the end of act 1 instead just having it end at the installment of SBURB because trying to cram all that content within 11 minutes would be ill-advised.
WV and Serenity making an appearance made me smile and THE BETA TROLLS LOOK SO CUTE!! Vriska was on screen for 3 frames and that brings me unimaginable joy. Still, I do wish they held a lot more of their cards closer to their chest. A lot of intrigue is ruined when you introduce characters like WV and the trolls so early. I think a lot of what makes their moments work is that build up ESPECIALLY the trolls because just being on the internet makes you interested into seeing what they are like, so the little teases sprinkled in the early acts are fun. Again this might just be a flaw of being a pilot, obviously they r trying to spark interest in a flashy way by being like, "hey, wanna see all these fun guys?? Then support our show!!" So this could absolutely be solved if the show ever gets made.
A lot of fun bits from the comic kind of lose their charm here, which is kind of disappointing, but a lot of the new jokes actually are pretty nice so that's good at least :)
As unadaptable as Homestuck seems, I really think this came out pretty good! I'm genuinely excited and I hope they iron out some of the issues I have with it if it gets picked up. AND GOD!! Do i want it to get picked up for a full show. I know It's easy to point out the negative and I definitely have, but I genuinely enjoyed it and was giddy the whole time through. I'm excited for a new era of Homestuck :)
Random thoughts on Hazbin Hotel S2 Ep.1 Part 1: Hotel Crew
[Spoiler Warning]
Also, because of how my brain works this will not be organized chronologically but character-wise (I think I've said this before for a different thing lol).
Charlie: So...on the plus side, she's giving Angel Dust therapy apparently, on the negative side she herself seems to need it more at the moment. She's mourning the death of one of her friends (maybe on of her loved ones) for the first time while also dealing with the new attention and pressure the hotel is getting. And dear god, the worst possible person is the only around to give her leadership advice. I don't hate (well, not yet...I have mixed feelings about the guy tbh) Lucifer but he hasn't been LEADING for what looks like years if not longer. And the other person of guidance is choosing to not help her (I think for a few reasons) and the advice she is holding on from him seems to be the smiling thing (not the best thing for OBVIOUS reasons). I think they even call attention to this with the whole; her not wanting to feel her feelings and just wants to get rid of them (Almost like what a certain deer often, and possible a certain TV too).
Vaggie (/TBD name): WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT HER NEW HAIRCUT? I REALLY LIKE IT BUT I FEEL LIKE ITS A MANDELA EFFECT AND MAYBE SHE ALWAYS HAD IT OR I'M CRAZY WHY -ahem- I like her choosing to change her name but I can also see her choosing to keep it in the future too. I just really like that she's trying to make her own identity now. And seems less strict/tense nowadays.
Angel Dust: ...I'm gonna be honest...this episode didn't do much for me when it came to Angel Dust. He's still Angel which is fun and I like that he's feeling more comfortable in the hotel to wear comfy clothing instead of constantly wearing his business/"keep up appearances outfit" outfit but that's about it tbh. I wish we saw him first try therapy or something since doing therapy is such a big step for him but it's a throwaway line from him to describe there was growth instead of showing us. Also, pig is good.
Husk: If you never picked up on this, Husk as well as the whole radio trio are my favorites in the show (as well as one Vee character but we'll get to that). I like that we also see him more comfortable with the others and showing care to them (especially with Angel Dust for obvious reasons). But we also see how he genuinely hates doing that much work for the hotel (He's an old man, he should only serve like 3-4 people at a time). Speaking of radio trio, We see him actually call Alastor by his name instead of boss and try to get him to do something again, despite it ending badly last time with Mimzy. This kinda supports the fact that Husk was probably not expecting Alastor to lash out and expected more of what he got in this episode; Alastor being petty and rude but not harmful. He also seems more annoyed by Alastor not doing anything than showing any reaction to Al's creepy backwards face afterwards which was kinda funny (It gives the vibe of when you see your boss do something stupid or annoying but not really care enough to comment on it).
Cherry Bomb: ...This is how I realize I only like her in small doses or when her main conversation isn't just Pentious. Though, I always do enjoy seeing her casual friendship with Angel and her still not getting along much with Husk. I just like seeing the sort of devil and angel on Angel Dust's shoulders lol.
[I couldn't pick a photo and he's obviously my favorite so you get multiple picture of murder deer]
Alastor: So, now that we cover all the characters who have chilled out a bit, let's talk about the one who hasn't and is probably gonna have a bad time this season. He's trying to distant himself for multiple reasons (He's injured, he hated the fact that he was getting attached to the others, something is wrong with powers, etc) but he has no issues being sassy and annoying for a bit of stress relief and maybe to keep the others at a distance as an extra bonus. The other main thing I wanna mention is...Or his powers weakened or his CONTROL over those powers? He seems to still be able to do a lot of what he used to do but something is off about how he does it. Like in the first pic he's twisting his head around but this time his head snaps to twist the other way (like it did the opposite of what he wanted to). And in the amazon pic (last image) Alastor's shirt is opened and his shoulders look like what you expect if he was using his left arm for something in front of him: I think this might be the scene I covered a weeks ago with him talking to Vox but that raises the question. What would make him go from talking to Vox non-aggressively to THIS?? My best guess is Al's microphone works like a tuner AND amplifier. Yes, makes his powers stronger but also might keep it (and his murderous urges and emotions) in check. So without it, his powers do whatever it wants (like random electric sparks from a broken wire or random radio waves) and that also includes murderous instincts. Could be wrong tho. (I include the middle picture because it just made me wondered if Alastor can make himself sepia on purpose or if it was just random static).
Niffty: I love her and understand why someone would let her stab them. I'm a little disappointed we didn't get her song in this episode (I lost a $3 bet lol) but still glad to see her get some recognition for killing Adam. Also I think that one pose she took while holding a room key during the Gurantee song was funny and cute (Couldn't find a pic). I can't wait for more of her.
Baxter: ...I should stop trying to predict what characters I will or won't like in this show. I thought I would like Pentious, I was wrong. Thought I would feel the same for Baxter, I was wrong. I like him, a lot. Mostly due to the fact that I'm also a biology/behavioral science nerd not a technology nerd. And I love mad scientists characters like him (I guess that's why I liked pilot Sir Pentious too). Also, even though I think he's a spy for Vox or will end up one, I completely believe he also is there to study and research the concept of redemption (I honestly would do that too). So...I like this guy. Damn it. I was so ready to just treat him like Pentious. I'm worse than Charlie lol.
[I'm short too but I wish to mock him for his shortness as well lol. It's YOUR room, you couldn't make it you-sized?]
Lucifer: ...I have mixed feelings for him but I do enjoy him being there for story reasons and for Charlie. I also am curious if there are all the ducks from his house/castle or just as many as he could carry. Or did he make some of these while staying in the hotel?
Hotel: I wanna cover Heaven and the Vee's businesses, so yes, I'm covering the building like a character. It seems much more spacious which kinda helps for this episode and in a logical way, but I do worry that in certain scenes it'll look to big and empty. Though that can be used for some atmosphere in a song or two as well. I still REALLY wanna see all the characters' rooms tho. I would like to know that Niffty doesn't sleep in the broom closet or Husk behind the bar.
