First Monday's Canton, Texas
I just moved from NC to Eustace, Texas. My girlfriend who is from here told me about this Flea Market/Sale called First Mondays. Weird name for a place that is only open the first or last weekend of every month but not the actual 1st Monday of the month. That's not the issue here though.
So First Monday's lets venders sell A product or service. In order to sell there you have to pay for it, that's typical, but you also need to have a Tax Permit.. can i get a hell no from the Anarchists???
So this place on top of essentially ensuring the government gets paid they are controlling of their venders.
*No Advertising(walking around giving free samples, talking to people about your shop etc.)
*If your car is not legal and parked in the lot it will be towed (again helping the govt not even walmart cares that much)
*You have to be there every day that you paid for
*You have to work mandatory hours.... as if they pay you for being there.
I dont know about y'all, but im used to Flea Markets where people, not businesses, sell stuff they got over the years or stuff they make or buy from people....
This sounds like Verizon, car dealers, various manufacturers or not so small businesses come and try to sell stuff doesn't seem like this is for the average person or self employed, esp looking at the prices of the rental areas $150 is the cheapest, on top of paid parking, probably will charge venders extra if they have to bring their stuff on a trailer......
As an Anarchist, I had to talk about this place. I'm sure there's more like this, but I had an interest in selling here and looked up the details.
This is just terrible to me. Id shop there but it's crazy how much venders have to go through to make some moneyHopefully Farmer John with his herbal plants isn't relying on this place for much other than advertisement, or hopefully Sally that's about to sell all her stuff and move to Nebraska isnt relying on the simplicity of this place to make money to use for anything important
No Flea Market should charge people that much or get as dealing with people and their taxes. I've never even heard of a Flea Market with paid parking until now and I've been to sales from northern ny to Florida and never seen one with paid parking.
Is this the only Flea Market/Sale like this?
