Haha this is what happens after I google “the smartest vegetable” at like 2am when I can’t sleep 😂 Inspired by wanting to create a comical illustration of my SO Brian ❤️ Anyone who has ever met him will know that he likes to torture me with his “did you know” statements because he’s sooo smart 🙄 Well apparently, the daikon radish - native to China and Japan - is his perfect form, as it is surely the highest IQ vegetable! It is super nutritious, cultivated around the world, and its seed oil is even used in the cosmetic industry. It’s very low calorie and has an impressive nutrient profile, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, and copper. Being highest in vitamin C, it also doubles as a powerful antioxidant - protecting your body’s cells from oxidative damage. It is also rich in folate, a B vitamin that’s involved in cellular growth, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. This cruciferous vegetable contains many plant compounds that have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and immune-boosting properties. This stylish radish is so faddish, it even has a Japanese phrase daikonashi named after it to describe people with big thick legs! 🏋️ PS - this is my very first attempt at using the Procreate app, and let me tell you.. It’s quite the learning curve! But I’ve really enjoyed working with it today for the first time ever - this is coming from someone who has never made any digital art before.
