This is a series of short stories focusing on small character building moments, or the relationships that are shared between a variety of my characters. Some of them are glimpses into their daily lives, while others reveal the past. The last story - titled Liar - reveals exactly the sort of lengths an insane ratfolk will go to have revenge on Fisco Vane...

Each story is different, but is summed up in the title. They were fun to write, and think about. Enjoy!

Well, hey! This is the culmination of the Jackie/Fisco story line, and once again, another collaboration with Orcishlibrarian. He wrote two more pieces that go in between this one and A Moral Compass, and I highly suggest you give them a read, if for no other reason than to see exactly what’s going on! This piece, actually, sets the mood for a lot of big problems for Fisco... We’ll see how he handles them!

Jackie DeCoeur is hungry for blood - and seems to think Fisco Vane’s will hit the spot. But as it becomes clear that Fisco’s been being manipulated, and that they both bit off more than they could chew, will they be able to set aside perceived grievances and work together?

Oh, hey, this is another piece I wrote in collaboration with Orcishlibrarian! It takes place a long while after Two Bullets and a Pocketful of Hate, and introduces Fisco to a half-demon bandit by the name of Red-Jackie. I’d highly suggest reading the story Red-Eyes and all the stories that follow before reading this one. It really sets up Jackie’s character and honestly, Orcishlibrarian is a fantastic writer. That being said, reading those stories is not necessary to understanding the sort of things that are going on in this one!

Fisco Vane has decided to take a more active role on Jakkard, dusting off his old persona as Ol’ Smokey and enlisting the aid of renowned bandit Jackie DeCoeur.

This is actually a collaborative piece between me and my good friend OrcishLibrarian! It features his character, Beryl, the Heart-Scarred prominently. I highly suggest reading all of his works, but reading just the ones involving Beryl should be sufficient to understand what is going on in this story. The good thing is, this story sets the mood by itself, and so doesn’t need a TON of background knowledge.

Beryl is looking for Fisco Vane, and Aloise knows how to find him. But is Fisco Vane a friend, or a killer?

This piece is something I posted after a long leave of absence from the Expanded Multiverse project. It’s short, sad, and really just peels away the veneer of bullshit Fisco surrounds himself with and shows exactly the sort of person he is.

Fisco is having a bad day. Diana comforts him.

Oh, man, this one was a hoot. It was a definite change of pace from the previous story, Stars and Smoke, although like a great deal of my early works, Fisco still featured prominently. This is a direct sequel to a work - called Deals and Devils - by another member of the Expanded Multiverse, RavenOfTheBlack. Look up his stories Planes of the Dual-Walkers and his novel War of the Wheel in order to get a better picture of what happens here!

Not even powerful planeswalking twins are allowed to treat Fisco without respect, and he aims to wipe the smug smirks off of both of their faces. He’ll need the help of a nature mage known as Daneera to get it done, however. Also important, this piece introduces Xeran, Fisco’s most powerful thrall, and Diana the angel in a little more depth!

Haha, wow, well there certainly is this story. Having read through it again recently, it’s not exactly my best piece, but neither would I call it my worst. (I don’t really dislike any of my works enough to call them my “worst”) Anyway, this was the story I used to introduce Aloise Hartley into the Magic: Expanded Multiverse. In hindsight, though it shows an interesting interaction between her and Fisco Vane, it’s not a very good introduction story by itself.

For a synopsis, Aloise gets her hands on one of Fisco’s coins, and Fisco is trying to figure out how, or, more importantly, why. Just a character piece with little action and a lot of talking.

Alright, next on the list of “Things I Wrote For The Magic: Expanded Multiverse” is this number. This is probably the piece I’m most well-known for on No Goblins Allowed (though I use the term “well-known” lightly). 

This piece features an original planeswalker of mine, Fisco Vane, who visits the Wild-West plane of Jakkard on a business venture and ends up getting much more than he bargained for...

Thinking about it, this is probably my second favorite story that I’ve written. It helps draw Fisco out, and also showcases the unique nature of Jakkard in the multiverse. Anyway, enjoy!
