A strong storm is expected to bring drenching rain beginning late Friday, and Duarte residents in the recent Fish Fire burn area were preparing for the threat of flash flooding and landslides. Duarte Residents Recover From Yet Another Paralyzing Storm DUARTE (CBSLA.com) – Homeowners in the Duarte burn area were finally getting a break Monday evening from the recent storms after mud flows shut down streets and forced evacuations.
Third Storm Brings Heavy Rains, Strong Winds and Flooding Concerns A third in a series of winter storms has started to move through Southern California Sunday, bringing heavy rains, strong winds and prompting evacuation orders in at least two burn areas, the National Weather Service reported.
Driving around in the desert, we can see the smoke is taking over the valley on all sides. We went from planning a father's day get together, since my FIL and BIL were both busy working last night on the border fire, to having to evacuate horses. They don't have many pictures of the fire online yet, but these are good. It's always amazing how fast life can change, no?
