And so it begins..

So like how for last year’s inktober I kind of went with a creature/animal theme, I will also be following a theme for this year’s inktober, except it’ll be a mech/cyberpunk-ish type of theme! because I want to try my hand at drawing mechanical parts & robots since I’ve never done that before. So by the end of this I hopefully would have learned something about designing robots :>

I’ve also decided to just do a prompt every few days so that I don’t pressure myself too much with it like last time lol, especially since I’ll have less time once my school starts in about 2 weeks

A robotic fish could help mangroves grow

Reforested mangroves don’t always grow well. To figure out why, two teens built a robotic mudskipper to measure the mud.

Mangrove forests are important ecosystems. Their tangled roots hold land in place, preventing the sea from washing it away. Those roots also shelter young fish and other animals as they grow. But the mangrove forests of Thailand have come under threat. People have cut many of them down to build fish farms and expand cities. Some efforts to regrow mangrove forests have been successful; others, not so much. Naphat Cheenchamrat, 18, and Pattharaphol Chainiwattana, 16, wanted to figure out why. For mangroves, mud matters. And to find out if mud is thick enough to plant new mangroves, the pair have just what everyone needs: a fish robot.
