Calvin Kattar TKOs Chris Fishgold in a frenetic first round!
That was a REALLY good tale of two halves of the round. The first round started with Calvin Kattar getting pressured by Chris Fishgold who was able to get inside the range and land some very good work vs Kattar. The difference between Kattar and some of the other fighters we've seen tonight when pressured is that Kattar was always in control defensively, he saw what was coming his way, was able to reset when he had to and get out of harm's way if he couldn't cope with what was coming. Kattar settled down and also discovered that Fishgold is one handed, picking him apart while keeping a close ey on the ONE weapon that Fishgold had on the feet. Kattar established his range and caught Fishgold coming in every time with a stiff jab. He bloodied Fishgold up who just kept pressing forward and a shot behind the ear followed by some hellacious ground and pound.
Everything about this felt like the UFC not taking a risk with a dude who is potentially on his last fight of his deal. Kattar got a super tough no name opponent to test himself against and he aced it. Kattar's only loss in the UFC is to Renato Moicano with wins over Andre Fili, Shane Burgos and now Chris Fishgold. Dude could use another top 10 test but I'm very intrigued by Kattar going forward. Still on the right side of 30.

Chris Fishgold subs Daniel Teymur in the second round
REALLY fun back and forth fight. Chris Fishgold is just a fun all pressure kinda dude who I imagine will stick around for years if only because he crashes hard repeatedly, brawls and is all activity on the ground. Teymur is one of the big misses of the UFC unfortunately.
