I know I cannot stay on my bullshit re: cookie story, but

*shaking you* YEARS. LITERAL YEARS AGO THEY TOLD YOU. It's not even wholly fair to say she was killed off, she was basically a ghost - not even a half of DE, just a fragment. Frankly her existing *at all* shouldn't have happened, it made no sense, it was a blatant act of greed so they could sell her. And it is beyond repulsive that they killed a MoC to do it.
