“Don’t get used to it.” It’s the first thing out of her mouth and it sounds a little harsher than Buffy means it too. She’s in pain, a lot of it, with each word she speaks it STINGS. Every inch of her body is in pain and she’s pretty sure there’s some broken ribs but going to the hospital seems a bit out of the question. What’s she supposed to say? Oh, I got attracked by a horde of pretty strong demons, no big deal. 

“Don’t look at me like that, Faith. I’m fine - I’ll be fine. I just need to tend to my wounds and get cleaned up.”

oz  was  used  to  being  an  EMOTIONAL  punching  bag  .  in  fact  it  was  almost  the  norm  .  people  came  to  him  &&  unloaded  their  problems  on  him  ,  trusting  his  silence  &&  hoping  he  would  be  able  to  guide  them  .  he  was  used  to  it  .  but  sometimes  ,  just  SOMETIMES  ,  the  burden  of  taking  on  so  many  people’s  thoughts  just  got  a  little  too  much  .  

still  ,  he  was  never  one  to  turn  people  away  from  his  door  should  they  come  knocking  .  oz  watched  as  faith  wrapped  her  arms  around  herself  ,  holding  her  shoulders  tenderly  for  a  second  waiting  to  be  let  in  .  there  was  sadness  in  her  eyes  &&  a  CRACKLE  of  her  voice  that  made  him  aware  of  how  much  she  needed  someone  to  talk  to  .  needed  someone  to  listen  .  he  glanced  at  his  watch  but  trying  not  to  make  it  obvious  ,  knowing  that  they  were  working  on  borrowed  time  if  anything  .  a  purse  of  his  lips  &&  he  stood  back  ,  letting  her  into  his  APARTMENT  &&  gesturing  for  her  to  take  a  seat  at  his  kitchen  table  . 

reaching  into  the  fridge  ,  he  drew  out  two  beers  &&  handed  one  to  her  ,  cracking  one  open  for  himself  &&  sitting  himself  across  from  her  .  “  what  happened  ?  ”   he  asked  quietly  .

INJURY STARTER MEME

Status: ACCEPTING

“Some of it.” It’s always unlikely that Geralt will come out of a contract unharmed. The beast he’d been hunting got him a couple of times, giving him a few injuries that aren’t even deep enough to scar. “Most of it isn’t.” 

The blood that covers him doesn’t bother him at all - monster guts is a normal thing for him, though he could really use a bath. It’s covering him from head to toe, his clothes and armor need to be cleaned, but at least he’d gotten the gold he’d been promised. “Don’t worry about me - I’m fine. Can’t say the same for the monster, though.”

VAMPIRE SYMBOL MEME

Hearing the woman tell her that she KNOWS she’s a vampire sets Jessica ON EDGE. She, too, knows what the other is. This woman is a SLAYER which mean she kills creatures like her, she’s heard that they don’t even think twice, they kill like some kind of RUTHLESS MURDER MACHINE.

Just because she’s a vampire doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her humanity. She only drinks from willing partcipants and most of the time, she drinks from BLOOD BAGS.

Jessica has to resist the urge to let her fangs show, to snarl at the other woman, it wouldn’t help her sitution at all. “I’m not a bad person, I swear. Are you....are you going to kill me?”

thumbs  THREADED  across  the  neck  of  the  t-shirt  he  was  holding  ,  feeling  the  numerous  blend  of  the  fabric  as  he  hesitated  putting  it  away  .  he  wasn’t  in  the  mood  to  talk  too  much  about  it  .  lie  .  lie  to  her  .  there’s  nothing  you  can  say  that  will  make  this  conversation  easy  .  only  willow  knew  the  full  EXTENT  .  he  dared  not  tell  anyone  else  how  much  it  just  hurt  .  yet  there  was  a  quiet  kindness  that  lingered  behind  her  brown  eyes  .  beneath  the  hard  veneer  of  someone  who  thought  they  didn’t  care  about  someone  ,  was  a  girl  who  very  MUCH  cared  about  others  .
