It took 5 years, but, we have officially had a bear sighting here at Five Oaks. The doe in the side yard wasn't amused. It's a juvenile bear, so will likely move on soon. One of our native Dogwoods and the Bartlett Pear have decided it's fall now.

The other Dogwood on the other side of the property is thinking about it. As are the Black Walnuts.

Finally getting around to painting the library. Walls are being painted Svelte Sage in semi gloss. Ceiling will be a shade darker, in Fenland. All trim, high gloss white. Then we'll put up gloss white 1 x4s to create a nice coffered ceiling look on the 10ft ceilings. And working on stripping the front door back to natural wood again. I swear, they put 4 coats of paint on it over the years. And stripped the original lock. It'd been painted black, then white. So it was fairly easy to strip.
