They sort of met in passing at the end of the war. Valko made several personal appearances as prisoners of war were released to ensure that the orders of the new treaty were being followed. In some cases he was the one to cut the ropes or undo the binding spells when coven members were hesitant to do so. He remembers Zadie in particular, because he asked what her name was and her captors told him they called her Midnight. To which Valko replied “What’s her actual fucking name? I have other shit to do right now.” If it ever came up again, he would still be annoyed about that.
