i wrote this immediately after seeing cacw last night at 2 am and after thinking about it all day today i stand by it. spoilers y’all:
not enough bucky
tony had more of a storyline than steve
wanda had more of a storyline than bucky
i didn’t pay ten dollars to watch wanda and tony deal w their personal issues wtf
spiderman was great, i loved him
hawkeye!! what a lil shit-head
the big fight scene was excellent
that moment at the end when steve and bucky walk away from tony... that was so romantic
speaking of romance, sharon was unnecessary
black panther had a larger role than i expected, that was awesome
the zemo stuff was anti-climactic
the whole movie was anti-climactic actually
finding bucky was SUPER anti-climactic wtf
bucky/sam interactions were great
i can’t wait for steve/bucky/sam to all be boyfriends together
NOT ENOUGH BUCKY
overall i wasn’t super impressed or blown away, and i’m kinda shocked by how many people loved it? i will probably see it again in theaters but like. it wasn’t a captain america movie. the main storyline/ personal conflict went to tony. he had like 50% of the screentime. bucky was a side character, and sam was completely sidelined for the final confrontation. there was a lot of good stuff in the movie, but overall it was a bit of a letdown.
i guess it’s my fault for not paying attention to the trailers/hype for this movie, but i was expecting a follow-up to winter soldier, and this was a follow-up to aou. which is not what i wanted.
i’m gonna watch winter soldier this weekend to make up for it.
(i definitely didn’t hate this movie, and i think i’ll like it better the second time around, now that i actually know what to expect. but i didn’t love this movie either.)
