“Why are you telling me this now?” - art
– every fiber of her being is telling her to leave. she knows he’s bad news and he’ll turn her into somebody she doesn’t have the stomach to be. but , maybe it’s what she needs. for every voice of reason , she has an answer ; that she needs to take her own advice and steel up , that she needs to bear the weight of the bad so NOBODY else has to. but she knows – she’s smart enough to recognize EXCUSES when she hears them. her heart is heavy , filled with concrete dreams that’ve been thrown to the side. she’s not heard , she’s not valued , she’s not needed where she wants to be. but – she knows he has a place with him and she’s going to be as selfish as she needs to be. “ because, ” she chooses her words carefully , as usual. “ in all the time we’ve been here , you’re the only one who’s listening. ” she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear , raising her eyes to meet his gaze. “ i’m tired of being nothing. ”
