A Moment, as Though it was a Lifetime @the-connor-series
Humans were so fascinating. Ralph never hid his curiosity toward them, hazel gaze lighting up with interest every time he had an encounter with one. They were all so bizarre. Reacting in strange ways, such emotion lighting up their lively expressions. The complete opposite of androids. Similar in appearance, yet quite different in every other aspect. Androids, Ralph had learned, were boring. Lifeless.
Connor, Ralph had learned, was interesting. Fun, and exciting. A human. One who had not given him the same expression as all the others. Perhaps at first, but... Something had stuck. They had found a sense of companionship in one another. That was good for Ralph, since he had a lot to talk about. The loneliness had been dreadful for him and he conveyed that, through animated gestures and hours of conversation. He didn’t really understand how to talk like a human. It was strange to him, but he wanted to learn. Wanted to fit in, for he found himself trapped between two pillars. As if he was half alive, as passionate as a human yet his skin remained sown together.
In a world where he just didn’t fit in, Connor was there. Ralph belonged.
He was talking about one thing or another, a wide grin stretching from cheek to cheek. It was usually about the earth and how much it mesmerized him. Through his eyes, everything was bright and beautiful. Eyes that turned towards Connor, that saw him the same way. Vibrant, an amazing human. The words slowly stopped tumbling from Ralph’s mouth, his brows raising as Connor touched him. The grin softened into a little smile, head tilting to enjoy the sensation.
Everything around them stopped. Ralph submerged himself in darkness, but it was a blanket of warmth. His lips shifted against Connor’s, in the way he always moved towards a pleasant sensation. Unpracticed. Stunning all the same. His eyes blinked open, Ralph staring at him when he pulled back. His hand reached out as if on instinct, clamped around Connor’s wrist, lips receiving another kiss. “Wait. Don’t go.” He said it every time, yet this time his voice had an edge. Why did everything feel so cozy within his chest? A feeling of contentment, slightly interrupted by the broken moment.
“What was that?” His voice was soft, his lips moving towards Connor’s again. It was one of the most pleasant sensations Ralph had ever felt. Something he could get addicted to. Something that itched inside him, wanting him to feel it again. And again. Again. “Tell me I’ll see you again, right here, tomorrow.” He said this every time too, though the softness that now seized his words had hardly ever been there. “Then you can leave me.”
