On Saturday night, he wore his new scarf out to a trendy bar. He didn’t feel like going out - he felt like staying in and listening to sad music and drinking alone and crying, but those were all definitely on the list of banned activities, while socialising was encouraged, so he supposed he had no choice. He went with his trendy photographer mate, and they talked about trendy things and the upcoming interview and French politics (Langdale seethed) and met up with other trendy people they knew, and it was alright, really. He got a text from Frederick Marshall asking if he wanted to get together for a catch up, an invitation he blatantly ignored. He could sense the cheeriness and positivity radiating at him through the phone; it made him feel like a vampire. It wasn't that Langdale had anything against optimism and energy and fun, but -- no, actually, that summed it up quite nicely. He was against fun.
