NAS Pensacola Military Ceremony to Honor the Fallen
Rick at Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children received a note from a USMC Private 1st Class stationed at NAS Pensacola. He wanted us to know about the NAS Pensacola Military ceremony conducted at the base on December 7. This video shows the Mexican flag flowing in the wind in the middle of the Mexico city Zocalo during the lowering of the flag. This gigantic flag is located in the middle of the Zocalo where you can see four very important sites that depict different historical periods.
El Palacio Nacional
La Catedral Metropolitana
El Templo Mayor
Nacional Monte de Piedad
The Templo Mayor is the clear indication or marker that this beautiful historical and modern city was built upon the ruins of the astounding Aztec capital, the city of Tenochtitlan.
Personally, seeing this site for the first time ever really triggered a lot of national pride for me. I was not born in Mexico, but my parents were. Seeing this giant flag waving in the wind reminded me of how immensely proud they are of being Mexican. This showed me that I could be proud too.
