their asian-only faceclaims rule was pretty apparent imo, and the person that asked for an exception or whatever knew what they were challenging and wanted an uncomfortable answer. they were a bad actor and went into it wanting to call them racist. / i'm the anon that you're talking about! i never asked for an exception, and i never called them racist. i brought up the example that an egyptian person is just as non-korean as a chinese person, and i used that example to genuinely ask for an explanation as to why non-asian fcs are not allowed, because i wanted to know why they came to that decision. since their reasoning was that it's in a small korean town, i was struggling to understand why a chinese person (who also is not korean) could be there, but not an egyptian person. i did not even intend to play an egyptian person; i just did not understand why non-asian fcs were being excluded, so i wanted to ask and see why! i even started it off saying i did not want to be argumentative, and the admins thanked me for being kind about it since i was not even trying to be mean... i really wanted to know why.
a different anon called them out for racist behavior because they had an ad that contained aave but wouldn't allow black and brown fcs to be played there, which i admit, i did find to be hypocritical on the admins' part. i think you are getting us two anons mixed up in your response.
and your point about all rps being racist because a good number of them are "asian fc only" - most rps are not "asian fcs only". krps tend to be "asian ENTERTAINMENT industry" only. "asian entertainment industry" rps would allow non-asian fcs as long as they are signed to an asian label. this krp in particular is strictly "asian fcs" only, and they allowed asian fcs who are outside of the asian entertainment industry. so by their logic, someone could theoretically play bella hadid at their rp, but they couldn't play anok yai. either one of those fcs would still not be korean and potentially "stand out" in that town, so their reasoning still seems fuzzy to me. i just personally believe that if an oc rp is allowing "all asian fcs", they should just open it up to all fcs no matter the ethnicity at that point, because like they even said, the continent of asia is HUGE so not allowing other races and ethnicities just feels uncomfortable and exclusionary, especially since south korea actually has cultural exchange programs with other countries to boost diversity and has systems in place where they pay people from other countries to move to rural towns in south korea to boost the population — which as a side note, would actually make it more realistic to have some non-asian fcs since the setting was a rural south korean town, if i remember correctly.
