INCREDIBLE. The Lava River Cave near Flagstaff, AZ is just jaw droppingly beautiful. We took a quick detour to this landmark after Expo West and explored its total 3/4 mile length. Once we reached the very back we sat down and turned off the lights... now that's dark! This cave was discovered around 1915 by loggers and has been a local marvel ever since. The cave temperature hovers around 32-40 degrees year round! So you Phoenix folks can excape the 120° weather by retreating here! Note: Bring a small trash bag with you and help keep this incredible location clean. Our minor trash cleanup turned into a treause hunt when Caroline found a beautiful bracelet!
