Deirdra lowered his head again when the gunfire started. Damn did he hate this, if he got shot he’d never let Cain live it down! Both of their comments had been enough to give away their location. And well of course he felt like a moron now but it had been instinct. Footsteps, gunshots and the one thing that seemed to cut through both was the others voice. Glancing back towards where the smoke still looked D quickly got to his knees.
He was about to show Cain something he rarely showed anyone let alone a human. He was like a wear so to speak and shifting forms had been all the more easier for it. “Get on!” He growled when he spited Cain rushing out of the smoke. Ears flat against his head orange fur that looked soft on a fox the size of a wolf. His ears perked back up only to flatten down again at more gun fire. “Don’t give me stupid face Cain we don’t have time for that! Now GET ON!!” It was his turn to bark orders literally even as he spoke fox like sounds escaped his now foxlike mouth even as he barked the command.
He didn’t have much of a chance to gawk at what played out before him, the rate of gunfire pretty much took that opportunity away. Not that it surprised him TOO much, there were stranger things in this underworld he lived and worked in after all. He would definitely have to ask D about it later on though.
The other was already on the move and thankfully Neraka had also started to take over which meant Cain could move a bit faster. Coming up alongside the other, he grabbed on and hoisted himself onto the large fox’s back. He didn’t need to say a word and honestly wouldn’t waste time on it now.
There must have been something about seeing the large fox run out of the smoke that turned their attackers off of giving chase. That was fine and dandy by Cain, he had the money after all and they weren’t dead. He just wished he hadn’t left the weapons behind with those jerks but there hadn’t been much of a choice. “Okay Fuzzy Butt, I think we’re good,” he finally spoke into the other’s ear. “I don’t think it’s a good idea for a giant fox ta be runnin’ down the street like this...”
