I don’t think Ic is stupid, they silly goofy yes, but they also are like an amazing alchemist (and yes some of that has been guess work however) they have literally reverse engineering/brought back several thought to be extinct forms of alchemical brewing themself
The anniversary of the cathedral of war is always a day that Centross spends with his family. It’s always a day he reminds them that he’s still there. It’s a day spent with Kai and Fenris curled up on the couch by the fireplace. It’s a day spent safe in blankets with his loves.
When Icarus gets back they become one of the people included in this, one of the people he holds extra close as they all eat songbird bread and the kids play upstairs. (Icarus doesn’t mention how they used to write letters in the world port, how they ranged from incoherent apologies to confessions.)
