Minthara & Motherhood. Now I have said once, I havea said it a THOUSAND times. People do not understand motherhood should be commenting on mothers, the psychology of mothers and characters in fictions (those well written ones like Cersei Lannister for instance, or Hawke's mother in DAII), because this is where some of most backward (if not outright sexist) opinions come out of sometimes.

Yes I referring to my forever topic that somehow it's TABOO to consider Minthara as a mother and their logic is always the worst. Like "oh she had a terrible upbringing," or "oh she made a comment here about her tolerance of kids." or "joked about doing a way with them." as if that means anything toward a serious attitude of what she would do to them. Don't forget she APPROVES of letting the one orphan girl stay in camp, and she's already stated and proven how much she is actually a stand-out in terms of how she feels on certain normalities in the Drow society that was her home.

Like okay, I know, I touched on this before, but I shouldn't have to be half ready for a fight everything I say that I entirely believe, based on canonical evidence and psychological analysis of that evidence, that Minthara is a capable mother. DO NOT FORGET! As per the datamined canon, she's already a mother, AND! It's still available in Dark Urge's story line she ends up pregnant BY dark urge.

It's COMPLETELY bullshit that people say that she is the worst one out of all of the companions as if she would be worse than Minsc, Astarion - a literal walking animal hazard.

Also people who criticize Minthara being a mother are not allowed to celebrate Lae'zel getting the Creche egg and adopting that baby inside of it.

They were all midst a campfire, having a heated debate, some sitting on pillows, chairs or lounging on throw pillows taken from their respective tents. Shadowheart was no different, though she kept out of the discussion for the most part, deciding she was only going to interject when she had the most controversial statement as ammunition. It wasn't quite coming for her yet, so her attention settled on Edelgard seated close by to her, observing her after taking a long sip from a chalice of red wine. "Your eyes are quite a striking color, Edelgard, even more noticeable by firelight. Yes ... I quite like that. Lady Shar would approve as well."

No one knew the monastery at night better than Amelia. When the sun set, it extended the shadows in which she lived. It was the only time where she was truly free to exist beneath the sky without fear of destruction. When she looked up, sometimes it felt as if the stars were out just for her, blessing her with light that she could not see during the day.

Before the sun rose, Amelia took every minute she could to wander, roam, and explore outside the monastery walls. Silent, hidden ⸻ like a ghost. The time she had outside was so limited, she cared not to share it with anyone. Usually. But the way the moonlight reflected off Edelgard's hair, was strangely enticing. As was the troubled look upon her face.

camilla's steps are confident even as she walks alone, neither of her beloved retainers in sight, bold and outright daring anyone with ill - intentions to try to mess with her just because she's seemingly without protection. her eye is sharp, and she knows how to deal plenty of damage herself even without axe or tome — one of the many skills she learned as a mere girl fighting for power for herself and her mother.

it's not often she seeks solitude, often preferring the comfort of company rather than being left to stew in her own worry, but the idea of spending her free afternoon relaxing under a beautiful sky had sounded too nice to pass up, even if she could find no one to join her.

as she approaches her destination, though, she finds someone already in the space she'd been planning to occupy. silver hair, violet eyes, red clothing. camilla smiles, hoping her presence won't be unwelcome.

   " lady edelgard, yes ? " she asks pleasantly. " i hope i'm not interrupting anything. "

❝ WHY DO YOU CARE? ❞ THOUGH HER WORDS ARE as hostile as always, she's too exhausted to put much bite into them. after a short pause, they take a breath, straightening their posture and addressing edelgard as if they're giving a briefing to a commanding officer. ❝ ... it was a rough battle. they knew we were coming — someone must have tipped them off. the professor did her best to control the battlefield, but we became separated. we were lucky that everyone survived. ❞

against manuela's orders, she stands from the infirmary bed and tests out the formerly injured leg. it's a bit sore; she can still feel an undercurrent of nausea from losing so much blood to a demonic beast's bite. what persephone doesn't tell edelgard is that she drew off the beast on her own, a stupid, reckless move that byleth explicitly shouted at her not to perform.

something tells her that if the other students weren't so wary of her, she would have gotten an earful from them, too. but it kept the thing off of them. drawn away far into the trees, persephone could unleash the skills they normally cannot allow the others to see, so the others can shove it. persephone flicks her eyes up to study edelgard, dark eyes a bit cautious. how much does she know? ❝ ... hresvelg. ❞ the words tumble out before they can stop them, ill-advised but impossible to reel back in. ❝ do not blame yourself for not being there. ❞

"Jimminy. Barely even a smile." That was good material, too! Riley made a show of deflation, shoulders slumping, expression glum. But with herculean effort she rallies, a sigh to toughen her resolve.
