she was on edge more often than not lately, with the target on her and her friends’ backs and still trying to fight of branson’s attention. it was something she once loved, but she was now so skeptical of who he really was ( someone who was once important to her and provided her a distraction she so badly needed, but now someone she felt she didn’t know at all. ) she wanted to move past what was happening and just RELAX for a while, but it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to do so with him around every corner, her mind always wishing it had been someone else ----- someone she was hoping to stumble into accidentally. she had avoided it for as long as she could, telling herself not to open that window ----- yet she needed some kind of OUT from all of this.

she wouldn’t offer him much more than that, her mind racing as she forced herself to focus on her homework, keeping herself busy and trying to look unapproachable to avoid her ex teacher ( and fling ) sitting across the cafe. it wasn’t until he walked in that she allowed her book to close, quickly standing up and moving over to grab his hand and rush him back over to the table she had been sitting at. ❛ i told you to hurry, ❜ she quickly accused, though she had no real sense of how long he had been gone. ❛ you’re my date. at least until that CREEP leaves me alone, ❜ she noted, nodding over in branson’s direction. ❛ and before you say it, NO, this isn’t real. you just might be scary enough to get him off my case, okay? so don’t make it weird. ❜
