A Mother's Love|| Ronin and Lavinia
Ever since her last encounter with Ronin, Lavinia had begun to avoid her adopted son. The Games were a busy time as it was, and Ronin seemed inclined to avoid her as well (which was common), so there was nothing too complicated in avoidance. Lavinia felt like she had only made things worse, though, and that wasn't her intentions.
For whatever reason, Lavinia was beginning to recall her promise to Ada, the White Lotus member from years past. She was supposed to help Ronin, but Lavinia had put it off, keeping her encounters with him limited so as to not actually harm him in any way. There were days when she just couldn't help but snap, though, and those days had started to stack up on each other. At some point, it had to stop. That's all she had tried to do when she last saw Ronin, but her words had only a negative effect on him.
Lavinia walked out to the gardens, trying to catch her breath from all of the press interviews and meetings the day always brought with it. There had been news of city goers witnessing someone using lightning manipulation not far from a street fair the other night, and the rumor spread like wildfire. The First Lady felt she would have to push Tobias into talking to the press, rather than herself. Busy with the games or not, people listened better to him than to her, it seemed. It was all just one big mess. But the sun was out today, and there was a nice breeze, making for a pleasant walk through the gardens. Maybe this would help her day.
Honoooor|| Daxus and Ronin
Socializing. Daxus really, really needed to socialize. He felt awkward and suppressed and, even if he knew he was probably going to get killed, at least talking to another tribute might help him. The firebender was homesick, and needed a little peace of mind here.
Walking to the training room to try and squeeze in a little work, Daxus slowed down as he caught sight of a familiar face. Everyone here seemed familiar, was important in some way or the other. But this person, oh, Daxus remembered the way some people talked about the Avatar, whether it be positive or otherwise. Typically, Daxus would have went on his way in his reserved state, but he couldn't pass up the chance to talk to someone right now- sanity came over anything else.
"Avatar Ronin?" He asked, his voice sounding funny to him now that he spoke up. Could he turn away now and walk away before making a bigger fool of himself, sounding so weird? "I, ah-- it's an honor to meet you. My parents talked up and down about you."
❈ // An Impromptu Lesson
Flashes of light from the training area tinged both red and blue cast strange shadows outside of the door that had been left open in Tybalt's carelessness. Before training this time, he had made sure that he meditated for half an hour before he began to bend. It helped sober him up, and he was able to grasp a better understanding of how he could improve the flow of the fire through his body. He was ready to bend lightning if he wished to, but for the moment he relied on fire, both red hot and hot enough to add that bluish burst of flame now and again.
Tybalt had decimated ten practice dummies, and had bounced back on the balls of his feet as he looked at the masses of ash and melted metal before him, shaking out his hands to get rid of the tremors starting to creep back into his fingers since he was starting to sweat out his alcohol. Sober, Tybalt looked as if he had some sort of nervous ailment because of the Tethalene withdrawls, which is partially the reason he had started drinking so much; alcohol seemed to steady his hands, though it dulled his mind.
Noting that someone had been watching him practice, Tybalt was not impressed as he recognized just who it was. "Oh, look, my lord and saviour. Forgive me if I don't bow, kid."
