It’s the roaring twenties! And oh boy is this decade roaring with crazy change! In the 1920s, the women’s suffrage movement paved the way for the start of equal rights for all women. The 19th Amendment finally gave us the right to vote in August 1920! Ladies were just starting to be seen as equals so when they partied, the Flappers partied hard! Breaking away from societal norms like cutting their hair short, hiking up their skirts, wearing dark red lipstick, and wearing loose dresses that hid their frame and usually had fringe and intricate beadwork. 1920’s Flapper is my favorite doll from my Barbie collection—the 20s is my favorite era! I got Flapper Barbie in 1993 and she is #2 from the Great Eras collection. Only once have I opened the box. Barbie’s outfit, makeup, accessories—are just perfection! Her champagne blonde hair is perfectly styled. I just love all of the gold and the faux fur. Barbie’s shoes are white and even have some decoration. Even my favorite writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald is featuring inside the box flap. My bridal shower was Speakeasy themed, and the password to get in was FITZGERALD. 🙂 Do you want to see more of my Barbie collection?
