Blown Away, Part 2. A windy illustrated story I made in 2016.
Continued from part 1.
Just then the ladies heard a very loud roaring and howling behind them. They both looked towards from where the wind was blowing, seeing the sky have darkened and even more debris flying in the wind and a devastating wave of wind heading towards them, making the grass bend to the ground and picking up everything into air. The wind storm then hit the ladies and made them almost loose their footing, making their clothes and hairs blow even more widly. Katrina screamed at this, the wind again and this time even more fast and violently blowing her hat away from her grasp, while making her dress blow around uncontrollably, tugging hard on to her coat and making it's collars flap against her face even harder, and her hair flying all around. Sandy screamed at this as well as the wind sent her skirt flying upwards and making her loose her footing as well. She also couldn't see anything as the wind blew right into her eyes and made the collars of her blouse flap and sting against her face harder and in a blur and so did the blazer's collars while also it's buttons felt to start rip open any moment. Sandy started pushing her skirt down with her other hand while holding on to her hat with the other, which immetiadetly blew off her head and the wind kept tugging hard on it, making it hard for Sandy to keep a grip on it while she also had to struggle with her skirt and footing.
Katrina immetiadetly went running after her runaway hat again, although it seemed hopeless as the hat flew away even faster and it was even harder to run in this storm. At the same time Sandy lost her grip on to her hat as well and the wind took it for a flight again as well. "No! Not now!", Sandy screamed helplessly after her huge flying hat. Sandy went running after her hat as well, but the wind tugged hard on to her skirt like it was a sail and sent it flying over Sandy's head while she was running, sending her for a short flight until blowing her down on the ground. Sandy tried helplessly push the hems of her skirt down and get it, but it was very hard as the wind kept blewing hard and violently while blowing her long hair high in the air. Katrina, who was still running after her hat, heard Sandy screaming help among the loudly roaring and howling wind and right away started running back to Sandy against the powerful wind, letting her and Sandy's hats fly far away who knows where as the wind kept playing with them.
Katrina managed to reach Sandy despite the wind slowing her down as it was blowing and tugging hard on to her dress, coat and hair. "Are you alright?", she asked and started helping Sandy get back up and push her skirt under control. "I think I am...", Sandy responded, but it was hard to hear each other through the roaring wind and their loudly snapping clothes, to top of that the collars of Sandy's blouse keeping flapping against her face and even blocking her mouth completly from time to time. The ladies eventually got back up standing, but were only greeted with the wind picking up strenght even more. Sandy and Katrina tried their best to brace against the wind, only to have the wind blow their arms behind them as it first tugged to hard on to Katrina's trench coat that it slipped and blew off her before she could do anything but scream as she was pushed by the wind and have her hair blow in her face while her dress billowed around like crazy. Also the wind blew at Sandy's blazer hard and violently ripped the buttons off it, opening it wide open and flap wildly in the wind, now getting to blow and flutter the blouse underneath even more.
Eventually the wind also completly blew off Sandy's blazer off her. Sandy didn't have time to mind on this as they both realized that they should go find shelter somewhere. She grabbed on to Katrina's hand as they started walking slowly against the wind. Katrina kept struggling with her upwards blowing dress while pushing against the wind with Sandy, who had managed to push her dress blow behind her instead upwards and tried to cover her eyes from the wind to see anything, while the wind kept also billowing her hair and blouse, slowly starting to rip it's buttons open as well. The ladies managed to reach a railing to get support on and Sandy grabbed on it. But then Katrina lost her footing and she found herself being in the air. Luckily she was still holding on to Sandy's hand so the wind couldn't take her flying. Sandy kept holding tight on the railing and on to Katrina, who was helplessly floating in the air like a piece of clothing about to blow off Sandy's grasp.
But the wind just kept blowing and blowing, making Sandy loose her footing and the grip on the railing, and so she and Katrina found themselves flying in the air like their hats they had lost to the wind. Both ladies screamed at this and tried to grasp on anything to stop their flying, but it was useless as they were flying high in the air. The wind tugged on to their hems like sail, sending them fly over their heads and make them fly even faster in the wind. They couldn't do anything but just fly in the air and try to not have the rest of their clothes get ripped off them. From the distance Sandy and Katrina looked like two big tulips flying in the air.
The ladies kept flying in the wind some time until they spotted a big strong tree infront of them and them flying towards it. "We must grab onto the branches of that tree!", Sandy yelled through the wind and Katrina agreed. As they flew above the tree, Sandy and Katrina both grabbed on to a branch and held tight, the rest of their bodies still in the air but their skirts down blowing downwards so they could see better, alrhough their long hairs were still blowing all around and in their faces. Eventually both Sandy and Katrina managed to pull each other deeper among the branches of the tree and to saftety from the storm.
Some minutes passed until the wind started to die down. The ladies were sitting in the tree and were combing their windblown long hairs with their nails and looking at their clothes that the wind had ripped badly. But despite all this both Sandy and Katrina just laughed at all this. "Wow, that was just so extreme!", Sandy laughed happily and flicked her hair. "You said it! Shall we do that again?", Katrina laughed as well and joked, to which they both bursted in laugh. Despite they loosing clothes to the wind and being in danger, they both were very happy and will surely always remember this experience. Now both Sandy and Katrina are looking for more wind storms to face and plan what billowing clothes to wear.
The End.
