Sandy and Dagmar face the wind. A 10 paged sketched comic about Sandy the wind loving girld enjoying and struggling with an intense windstorm and getting saved by fellow wind lover Dagmar, ending in a romantic scene.
Blown Away, Part 1. A windy illustrated story I made back in 2016.
A huge and possibly very devastating windstorm was forecasted to strike on that day. By the afternoon the wind had picked up strenght a whole lot and most people in the village were heading inside for shelter. Sandy was right at that time visiting few shops, while waiting for the storm to strike. She was just visiting a hat store at that time and as soon as the storm struck, she hurried outside being very excited and happy. The store owners were puzzled at her hurrying outside into such "terrible" weather instead of staying inside, especially with that big, very wide brimmed hat she just bought from them. The wind will most definetly grab on to that hat very easily and it's hard to keep on! Sandy of course didn't care if the people didn't understand her huge affection to the wind and loving to struggle with it.
Alongside her new big violet hat with a cute pink bow tie on it's crown Sandy was wearing a violet blazer and underneath it a light yellow silk blouse with very long collars, and a long and wide silk skirt. Her knee-lenght blonde hair she was keeping open as always. To her this outfit was almost perfect for windy weather like this, only things missing were a big cloak and a scarf, but she was unable to get suitable ones today so they may wait for the next storm then.
Sandy opened the shop door that got slammed wide open by the wind, and walked out into the storm, while the store owners told her to be careful and closed the shop as they headed to shelter as well.
Sandy walked out and was immetiadetly greeted by strong winds blowing through her. She just laughed happily about this, her long hair starting to whip around and the long collars of her blouse flapping around and the skirt starting to billow wildly. Of course the wind also noticed her new big hat right away and grabbed hard on it, forcing Sandy to grab on and hold on to it. But Sandy didn't have tight enough grib on her hat as the next big gust of wind blew it off her head easily as the gust caught her off guard. Sandy gasped at this and ran after her hat, the wind blowing hard at her back. Before the hat would have flown far away, Sandy managed to catch the hat from it's flight and giggled happily. "Whew, made it!", she laughed and put her hat back on, holding tight from it's wide brims to which the wind tugged on hard.
The wind kept blowing stronger and stronger at Sandy's back as she walked to the fields to enjoy the storm. The wind started tugging on to her skirt even harder and started blowing it upwards, forcing Sandy to push it's hems down with her right hand while holding on to her hat with her left hand. The wind kept blowing her hair all around and in her face and flapping the collars of the blouse at her face as well, so seeing around started getting harder and harder. She of course didn't mind this and couldn't do anything anyway since her hands were full with keeping her hat and skirt under control. She did eventually turn herself against the wind to brush her hair off her face and look around the wind storm raging around her. This all was so exciting and fun and she just stood there against the wind, feeling the wind pushing at her and billowing her hair and clothes uncontrollably. The storm was about to get even stronger, as if it wasn't already extremely strong.
While Sandy was enjoying the wind, not far away from her another lady was having trouble with the powerful gales. This lady was Katrina, who was also there enjoying the wind as it got very strong. Katrina's black knee-lenght hair was flying all around and the wind was tugging hard on to her big tan women's fedora, long tan trench coat and red silk dress. She was having trouble with holding on to her hat and keeping the hems of her dress down as the mighty gales blew against her, flapping the collars of the coat at her face and blocking her vision.
Right at that moment there was a very loud roar as the wind got even stronger and blew a huge gust through the area and at the ladies. The wind blew violently at Katrina, ripping her large trench coat open and making it billow wide open. Katrina screamed as the gust hits her, blocking her vision and making her almost loose her balance. She managed to keep her dress under control but her hat slips out of her other hand and the wind takes it for a flight. Katrina looks at her hat flying away from her, while the wind blows her hair all around and tugs hard on to her coat, making it billow and snap loudly alongside with her dress. She could only just gasp at this and go running after her runaway hat.
The gust kept blowing through the whole area, now striking hard at Sandy as well. This time Sandy manages to brace herself against the gust of wind, lowering her head and the hat against the wind and held tight on it's brims. She felt how the huge gust made her skirt billow and snap even more wildly and made her hair fly like crazy. While she managed to keep a grip on her hat and her skirt blowing behind her, not upwards, the wind ripped off the bow tie from the hat. The wind managed to take a hold on the brims of the hat from below and made Sandy rise her face alongside with the hat to face the wind. But Sandy still managed to keep a grip on her hat, despite the wind tugging very hard on to it's brims. She just closed her eyes and laughed happily, the long collars of the blouse flapping, ruffling and smothering at her face like crazy while her long hair blew widly in a straight line.
But then Sandy heard a familiar yelling in the roaring wind, screaming "My hat! Get back here!". Sandy opened her eyes and looked towards the wind. Despite the flapping collars of her blouse and her hair kept smothering at her eyes from time to time, she saw a big tan fedora flying in the wind right towards her. Sandy reached at the flying hat as it blew towards her, catching it from it's mid-flight. A bit further away Katrina saw this happen and that indeed that was her friend Sandy who just caught her runaway hat. Katrina smiled at this and waved to Sandy as she walked towards her, wind blowing hard on her back.
Sandy laughed and waved back to Katrina as they walked towards each other. "Hello Katrina! I assume this is your's?", Sandy giggled as she handed Katrina's hat back to her, holding tight on to her own hat's brim with her other hand. "It is! Thank you, Sandy!", Katrina giggled as well as she grabbed her hat and put it back on, holding tight on it, her long hair blowing straight and reaching and gently whipping at Sandy's body from time to time.
"It sure is so wonderfully windy today, isn't it?", Sandy laughed, holding tight on to her hat with both hands, her hair blowing all around behind her and her clothes billowind and snapping wildly. "It sure is, but I think it's maybe getting a bit too windy. It's getting hard to even move or see in this storm!", Katrina laughed back, the wind blowing hard at her back, billowing her coat all around and make it's collars flap hard against her neck and cheeks. "Maybe, but it's making all this even more exciting!", Sandy giggled, fixing her grip around her hat that the wind kept tugging on hard. "Heh, you are such an extreme maiden of the wind.", Katrina responded, they both then laughing.
To be continued...
