@hopecerulean ((sorry it won’t let me access your blog page for some reason))
💙;; "I'm not asking you to hide, I'm asking you to stay safe-!"
...okay, maybe she'd asked him to hide a little bit. But when you're desperately trying to shoulder the burden of keeping a giant, multi-armed monster from smashing everything around it, and it keeps breaking through your light constructs, a bit faster than you're able to keep up with, you get a little bit testy.
Leave it to Blaize to once again resort to overextending herself rather than put anyone else at risk...
💙;; "I-I can handle this-!!"
“I won’t get hit easily!”
He was among the fastest people alive after all. He managed to dodge another hit from this multi-armed menace that was coming for them. He was not sure even where it came from in all honesty. He sighed and stretched a little bit between needs to dodge.
That is when an idea hit him. It was so obvious! Why hadn’t he seen this before? He could run up one of the arms.
“Try to get one of his arms stuck in the ground! I can run up it and deliver a punch at sonic speed!”
Five headcanons for Mary & Rohini + The Flash AU: go! <3
Mirror Maiden and Lyrebird are a neutral force in Central City. Meaning, they’ll help out Team Flash if need be (pushing the subject of how inhumane the Pipeline is every time) and occassionaly help the Rogues as well (they’re really not all that bad!). It really depends on the cause of the day, honestly.
You could consider yourself lucky if you run into them on Halloween. They run around in their costumes, pulling pranks on people with their powers. Mirror Maiden makes sure that no one in a vampire costume has a reflection that day. Lyrebird lends a hand (or rather, a vocal cord) to the howling werewolf children.
Standard CC Jitters coffee order for these ladies: a Captain Cold (iced latte with an extra drizzle of caramel syrup) for Mary McCall and a Peek-A-Boo (spiced cappuccino with whipped cream) for Rohini Shankar. Every time they quietly suggest that Jitters should get a Mirror Maiden (a balanced blend of chai and hot chocolate) and a Lyrebird (vanilla latte with whipped cream and crumbled cookies on top).
They go on trips to Star City to reconcile with old friends. To this day, Mary hopes to run into the real Green Arrow so she can invite him to a friendly archery competition (whether he’d be into that or not, she decides to ignore). After running into Ted Grant and hearing his stories about the ever terrible situation in the Glades, Mirror Maiden and Lyrebird make sure to stop there and help out where they can. They spend time with the children, amusing them with their powers, and help out Ted with his self defense classes.
If there was a competition for the best looking Metas in town, Lyrebird and Mirror Maiden are convinced that they should win. Why wear masks when it’s only bothersome to hide your identity? No, they opt for making sure that they look their finest while they’re the center of attention, be it a crime scene or a hero-appreciation-event.
{{Bruce Wayne/Batman}} @wewontstaydead
A frown pulled at the corners of an already dour expression, and Batman turned away from Wally, crossing towards the large terminal at the center of the Watchtower and sliding a gloved hand out from beneath his cape to power it on. A map of the world rose into existence, projected just above it, and a red light flickered into existence before trailing a dotted path towards the planet.
“Three years ago, Superman was still alive. It would have been child’s play for him to take care of an asteroid heading for Earth. We still have the resources available to stop it, but… it’s going to be significantly more difficult now.”
~~~
Of course being The Flash had been rough, being one of few people to have survived and remembered The Crisis on Infinite Earths and the true death of his Uncle and predecessor as The Flash, Barry Allen in one last desperate attempt to save the multiverse. Then Superman died not long after fighting some invention of Darkseid’s in Doomsday.
Now, here they where, desperately trying to save the earth from this oncoming asteroid. It would have been easiest if they had Superman, but so far it seemed they only had Steel and that Superboy character that had been appearing lately.
“I take that to mean we don’t have a laser beam. What are we going to do? My speed is almost useless during this time.” He hated to admit it, but there were some problems super speed could not solve.
Dodging the swing of a fist, Nightwing shoots Flash a smile. "Aye, it's the Calvary! What took you so long? Almost had all the fun to myself!"
Wally dodged a few bullets and returned the smile. "Sorry, had to take care of Weather Wizard. You know how my rogues get, they go too long without attention and pitch a fit."
“It’s me you want! Let them go - let them go!”
That shouldn’t have surprised Wally as much as it did. If there was one thing that was true about anyone who had been Robin over the years, it was that they where always brave. In cases such as this stupidly so.
This kid….so brave. But I can’t risk Tim’s life. Wally thought to himself. It’s been years since this last happened to me, maybe this is my punishment for being such a horrid Flash to teach Bart, but I won’t let Tim suffer for my actions too. In all truth it was far from just Dick who was constantly kidnapped in the old days. It was like a rotating schedule. So this was thankfully far from his first rodeo.
“Ignore Robin.” The man stated with a bit of authority. “I am a far more valuable hostage given I am a member of the Justice League, plus I don’t recommend getting on Batman’s bad side. I hear that is hazardous to one’s health.” He looked over to Tim before he lowered his voice so only Tim could hear.
“Don’t worry about me kid. I have been through worse kidnappings than this. You’re more important here.”
“Whoa, hey, stay with me! You’re as white as a ghost. Don’t pass out.”
Wally was panting. He couldn’t run anymore. “U-Usually I have healed by now.” He leaned on Dick. He wasn’t sure what was taking so long for this to heal.
“Leave me behind. I’m just going to slow you down.”
“You can’t slow down a speedster.” Wally grunted as the bullets raged over their heads. “But what the hell where you thinking? Coming here alone? None of us have ever taken HIVE down alone.” Wally glared at Dick.
