Hi there- I don't have a prompt, but I've come to say thank you for making this blog. I run a Shadows Discord server and people have been talking about these prompts nonstop fo the past several days- both to come up with some to submit (there's apparently quite a few prompts from ppl in our server), and to figure out how to fill the other prompts that get uploaded.

awww ty!!! im glad people are enjoying them!! i was hoping having a centralized place like this to drop random prompts would get people talking and spark creativity for the fandom - there have been so many times that i or my friends have come up with really cool concepts in private chats that no one has been able to write; now we can release it to the world! :) thanks to everyone sending prompts in as well, you keep my queue and my heart full!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. if you (as a director) really want your talent to do something, just put it in the script! Im more familiar with film than theater, but the principles are pretty much the same, I think. give your talent enough info to work with, but then let them have enough space to develop the character themselves. If you reaaallly need your production performed in a hyper-specific way, I think you’re honestly better off just making it animated…

yeah!!!! being too specific is the easiest way to kill a production, it’ll just make everything look and feel so stilted for everyone involved. and i feel like directors who do that don’t realize that actors do study the script and work to internalize all the stage directions and just? adding more stuff like that? little weird, little unnecessary, more so if you’re also the playwright because deadass, you write the whole fuckin play, why didn’t you just WRITE IT IN OMFG
