Trench coat Illustration.
Outerwear research illustration for my brand Cavanagh
This week i haven’t had very much todo!
The main thing i’ve been creating/ finishing is the girls AW22 mood, print and colour boards to show the designers/ managers the kids collection.
I had some feedback from my line manager to update and match the kids print colours according to the pantones she picked out of the pantone book!
The last thing I did, I had to update the range directories and lookbooks with more updated more numbers for both SS22 pre and main but this time digitally and not on paper.
This week was a massive tidy up! due to being done with AW21 and SS22,The cages and design room at Barbour were at the point of bursting when it comes to samples so on Wed 26th & Thursday 27th May we did a big clear out.
on the Wednesday, we boxed up all the protos in the design room so it would be SS22 and boxed them up to store into the cage.
Rails were ordered to come over to the building and hangers and boxes were also ordered to help move everything.
Summer and Winter seasons are kept in the cage as these will be needed in the showrooms. SS21 Protos or any other samples (most were in boxes) put on rails ready to be moved out the building, AW21 protos to be boxed ready to be put in cage next season , AW20 sealing samples were cleared.
in the Little Cage: Tech Boxed up AW21 & SS22 PRE Brand lab/Studio samples
updated some signs on the units in the design room as they said AW21 and SS22 instead of AW22 , I removed any mannequins and shoe boxes that were broken or empty. There were 4 mannequins left after getting rid of the broken ones, 2 to keep in the design room and the other 2 have been claimed already.
The designer that works with Alexa Chung asked me to print out a few copies of the range plan to go through the range with Alexa herself.
i had to change all Drawcords on the range Coast to country so they were dye to match (match the outer colour)
I managed to send out a copy of a kids print to my managers to get feedback and see what could be improved.
I was asked from one of the designers to update all swing ticket info on the spec sheets to have the correct names on them. e.g. coats to country to say coast to country.
The product development manager asked me to update the SS22 range directories by adding the updated numbers to them and printing them off for the head of womenswear and my line manager.
i had to update the AW22 reengineered colour cads.
The health and safety team at Barbour let us know we have to self test every day before we come into the office as the cases were rising!
We received the SS22 feedback on all outerwear garments, designers could see what went well and what to improve on.
i had to send a delivery to the Barbour factory based in London.
This week is the Launch pack and GSM deadline!
I had to update any updates sent over by designers and make sure all conversions on our website were correct from the data given to me by the sales/marketing manager.
one of the designers had loads of spare fabrics from when they were at University so she decided to give me them for samples when im at uni!
The BI designer asked me to update all sports specs to have 15mm embossed studs instead of 18 as the 18mm were huge!
The womenswear manager asked me to create some kids prints for AW22 to go with both clothing and outerwear! i decided to do a-lot of research as this is my first time doing anything todo with kids-wear! after i got enough research, i am starting to create the prints now!
more updated conversions needed adding to SS22.
It is mandatory to complete security training at Barbour so i was completed the cyber security course.
Finally, i was asked from my line manager to create some boards on pinterest where we could add trending outerwear so designers could see what is on trend at that moment.
This week was a week of updating CADS for AW22! I was asked by the BI designer to create a platinum colour board for AW22. The country-wear designer asked for all country cads to have the colour Indigo added as an option.
my line manager sent over the running order that the ranges would be for the photoshoot days.
I was sent some samples from a different building at Barbour and i had to put them in the cage so they were sorted out.
The IT department sent an email out saying everyone must have a voicemail for their desk phones so i had to create mine.
I received some brand lab samples from marketing and studio that could be used for photoshoot which came just in time!
It is getting closer to the launch so i had to send an email to designers saying they need to send me an email of which updates and colour cads need updating as i needed to overview ranges and add them to the launch pack.
i had to add kids safety info to the kids specs.
The clothing line manager asked me to create 5 more prints for country-wear and 2 choices for embroidery on a shirt and T-shirt!
