Due to covid restrictions our whole team was only allowed in on a monday and friday, on the monday i had to tidy up the design room ready for a meeting with dame Margaret Barbour the next day.

the Tuesday, and thursday i had to teach the new intern everything abotu Barbour and the roles they will be doing.

when i had taught her everything i set her a brief to create a mood/ colour board based on recent trends that barbour would love. and to create a outerwear flat drawing from scratch which shows the barbour DNA.

on the Wednesday i had to do a final stationary order ready to come in when the new intern starts.

Today is my last day of the internship at Barbour! i cannot believe how fast it has gone! everyone is so lovely and im glad i got the opportunity to work here!

one of the outerwear tech and BOM managers gave me a cupcake to say thank you!

we also got a present off Barbour and our secret santa presents were handed out.

Business wise, we had a 2 hour meeting with the head of womenswear about the business and where / what is happening at this minute and profits of womenswear.

I have my last meeting with the new intern, giving her a tour and going through the research/ task i gave her.

This week the coast to country and girls-wear designer asked me to colour up the specs for ss23, making sure that i add the patterns and make it the right scale.

we got a surprise off Barbour of some lunch vans and coffee vans coming on site!

The countrywear designer asked me to tidy up some of the cupboards where they store trims and fabrics for the move next week.

This week a few people wanted some 2022 diaries so i had to find/ order some.

some of the girls from the team wanted to have a christmas night out so we had to say what we wanted to have to eat and drink, i chose a steak and a martini 🤩

as the showroom eas getting ready for sales, i had to find a few coats that were missing.

I was asked to update all physical colour boards with fabric samples. there was also some spec updates.

i received some stationary I needed to sort out.

i had the task of clearing out a cupboard that had been filled with lot of stuff for years so that model stuff and boxes etc could go into the cupboard out of the way!

after i had sorted it out.

I had to send alot of shoes and garments to the shop to be sold as we didnt need them.

the reengineered designer asked me to change every spec on the range to have all gold embroidery.

We had an office move so i had to clear out my desk, my line managers as she had covid and the reengineered designs desk as shes pregnant !

I received my resignation acknowledgement email where i had to do a survey of the whole company, I had a few spec updates to complete for girls and some where i needed to remove a colour and add a different.

The week after launch is always slow! i didnt have much todo except updates and boxing up all AW22 protos and put in the cage

The pack was done and ready to be sent out to the team to check it over and to make any updates to it.

a few colour got changed for SS23 coast to country so i had to update everything.

Had to clear the showroom of brand lab samples and launch samples and only keep show room samples in the show room

C2C had a colour change name so had to update that.

Got sent conversions and numbers to add onto AW22 range directories

Had to create a pack for the brand GANNI, ROKSANDA and ALEXA CHUNG

This week was the run up to Launch and the Launch packs!

i received the launch agenda and the running order of the pack.

the assistant and i had to ensure the showroom was ready, all models were ready and that all garments where in the room.

Had to add all sustainability info to all specs.

Barbour had a visit from the prince of wales which was amazing to see!

This week was heavily Launch and photoshoot focused.

This week is mainly prep for Launch and GSM / Photoshoots.

i have to get updated from all designers on their specs to ensure all information is correct and all sustainability info is added.

I mainly had to start to get the pack for launch put together for AW22 so this meant getting slides off the womenswear manager and also updating CADS and then overviewing them in ranges to add behind the presentations off the head.

all outfit boards needed to be sorted also for the filming we were doing with the models next week and because they aren't allowed to share it had to be one of everything including shoes and accessories.

some samples were missing so we had to contact someone to see if they had any or if they had even came into the warehouse.

My line manager had to be in isolation so i had to send a parcel of everything she needed to work on to her home.

As my line manager was isolating, she asked me to send her a copy of every spec from each range.

The product and development manager asked me to email everyone in the company a copy of the SS22 range directories for both the PRE and MAIN line including all the up to-date numbers on sales.

The Barbour international designer asked me to print out an A3 copy of the colour board and add some swatches to it so that everyone could see what the colour looked like on fabric.

The coast to country designer asked me to do a few updates on some specs for her as the sizings and some fabrics were changed and to colour them up for our website.

I was asked by the designer who works with collabs like Alexa Chung to find some new and interesting quilting patterns as the old onion quilt and the diamond quilt has been used too much so i did some research and put a pack together of different quilting like patchwork quilting and square quilting.

My line manager asked me to find some variations of a baby blue colour that had been used for a previous season as she needed some new light blue colours for SS23. she also wanted this to use on a brief for House of Fraser so they could pick a colour that tonally worked throughout both clothing and outerwear. (none of these were used in the end so i can show this haha! )

The studio an production manager and the senior stylist asked me to help with adding pictures an product codes to an online presentation they make to keep up to date with what models are using and to see what outfits we styles with the model we had in the styling meetings. it was really fun working on something other than design!

the senior stylist sent me all the photos he took of the model who tried on the outfits ready for photoshoot so i could add it to the presentation.

The coast to country designer asked me to sew more badges onto some jackets that were missing some. she also asked me to change some drawcords in the hood that had came into the office wrong and needed changing out.

My line manager asked me to pull together one of every coat from AW22 with information from specs attached to each coat (more than 150 coats! ) for s costing meeting with the costing director.

The assistant was busy sorting through some specials she had been assigned so she asked me to find her certain fabrics that could be used for different garments being made.

the global trade marketing coordinator was struggling finding some outerwear pieces that needed to be shot so i helped her find them.

The reengineered designer saw an image on pinterest that she really liked for inspiration on a jacket she wanted to make but she couldn't find the jacket anywhere so set me the task of finding the jacket on the store it came from!

This week was a slow week,

i had to send some fabric swatches to john lewis as they needed to pick a swatch to use for their outerwear pieces.

The cupboard door where i keep the stationary for womenswear broke so i had to call site services to come and repair it.

the product development manager got me to do some updates to the numbers for ss22

I created a vogue trend pack for the designers to see what was trending for up coming seasons.

me and the BI outerwear assistant had to get the design room ready for a costing meeting with my line managers boss to see if they have to change anything on the coat to make it cheaper or more expensive. we had to arrange the coats in range order and also grouped together by category for example, quilts together, wax together and wpb together.

I had to send out an email telling everyone that the styling/ photoshoot boards were done and ready to be used on the actual photoshoots.

the assistant and i had to be in charge of all coats that went on the photoshoots and to ensure we got everything back ready for the showroom so that buyers could see the collection (not this week).

I also got pulled into another styling meeting with my line manager as there were a few more ranges that needed some outfits sorting for photoshoots.

The coast to country designer asked me to sew on some badges in the correct place on outerwear pieces as they came in from the factory without any and these jackets were needed for photoshoots.

The head of womenswear sent an email out to all of the womenswear designers with amazing news that Barbour had won both the mens and womenswear brand of the year award at the drapers independent awards, winning both mens and women's has never been done before by a brand so it was a huge milestone for Barbour!

My line manager asked me to create a countrywear version of the photoshoot slides.

she also got me to go through all of the fabrics we had to get her some cuttings of certain colours that we could use for a collab with JLP.

A designer asked me to create an A3 mood/ colourboard for SS23 countrywear.

I got asked by the girls-wear designer to create some print research for SS23 as my AW22 print was a huge success.

Some of the designers asked me to produce some A4 versions of the colourboards as the A3 versions were too big for the designers to take home.

i had some updates for SS22 specs for the coastal range .

My line manager asked me to make some different colour options of the print i did for SS23 BI range

The coast to country designer asked me to change a few things on specs and to update the colour cads.

My line manager gave me a task researching to find a new print collab partner for SS23, it had to be someone that people have heard of outside the UK as well as in the UK. she asked me to create a presentation of different print designers that barbour could collab with.

This week is mainly sorting out the showroom which is where we put the whole of the seasons jackets / clothing into the room for sales to try and sell it.

i was given a big amount of outerwear that had just been delivered to our tech team, i ha to switch some samples that were wrong in the showroom with the correct ones.

I was asked by the product development manager to put the predicted numbers that the season had into a document for all designers to see.

had some spec updated for reengineered, alexa chung and the kids range.

one of the most important things I am doing is the Launch pack, i had completed the Barbour pack and sent it out via email to designers to check it over and give me any updates and changes to make it perfect before it goes to print.

Last minute i got asked to take all nightwear out of the main pack and to create a pack just for night/ lounge ranges including the mens, girls, boys and women's.

I had to ensure all of the womenswear designers know that they needed to and any recycled or sustainability elements were added to the each thumbnail for the pack.

I had to wait for the BI slides off the manager of womenswear to start creating the Barbour International slides. created it and then sent it off to receive comments from designers.

My line manager asked me to go into a styling meeting to create the outfit boards that will be used on photoshoots as a styling guide.

I was asked by the International designer to create a print for the platinum range, i created it and then sent it to her for comments. she accepted it and then it got sent to be accepted for fabric / to get printed.

I got an email off the receptionist asking if anyone needed any diaries for 2022 as they sell out quickly so i did a bulk order for everyone.

GSM / Launch pack was ready.

The country-wear designer asked me to do some print research for SS23 so i created an adobe presentation full of trending prints / styles that would relate to the country-wear range.

this week, we had to do some prep work before we start filming for AW22.

this would be tidying the showroom, styling the outfits, getting all outfits on different rails for the models etc.

I had to go to the place where we store the Achieve coats to find a few coats the designers could take inspiration from for collabs work to make it more “Barbour”

i started doing some prep work for the creating of both AW22 pre and main GSMM (global sales marketing meeting) this is where i have to make a pack with all photoshoot images and overviews of every spec for the sales team to view an overview of the collections.

I was asked by my line manager to go into a styling meeting with her, the styling team and a few designers, i was asked to do a board on illustrator of the outfits we put together when styling so the photographers know what they are shooting.

when i got back from my holidays i had a few things to catch up on, updating some Alexa Chung cads, student web seminar, making another wax shade card, girls cad updates, ordering pantones, trim packs

for the rest of the week i had to do some security training with IT and i started to create the SS23 pinterest boards for each range.

I had to prep some fabric for a meeting with GANNI.

created an overview for clothing and outerwear for John lewis

i was asked to research some styling names for SS23 for each garment so the designers can name it.

I had to add all AW22 garments into the design room for a costing meeting with the CEO of Barbour.
