The Mess We've Made - Bodil Stokke
This is one of the best conference talks I’ve ever seen. Imagine the brief, incomplete and mostly wrong history of programming languages lasting for an one hour and being a presentation - that’s Bodil Stokke’s talk! It’s a comprehensive overview of the status quo of programming languages in enterprise and academia. It is funny beyond all expectations, and also it has a lot of ponies in it, as all of Stokke’s presentations. Seriously, if you only watch one talk about programming languages, this should be it. There’s some serious Java bashing at the beginning though, so beware, if you’re a sensitive enterprise developer.
