tbh i feel like hubert would think of marianne as highly incompetent
when he tries to approach her, he temporarily forgot about how scary he looked and he went "ah" after marianne squeaked an apology and went skrt skrt away
then c+ support hubert was forced into axe training and ended up bruises badly by caspar, then marianne sees the wounds and offered to heal him, and he ended up taking the offer to "see her skills"
shes still feeble as hell, but hubert got some sort of respect for her and he wanted to see what she was like more, abusing the excuse of "for lady edelgard" like he does with everything
b support would be much softer and hubert would see marianne's good qualities shine, and would even be able to strike a conversation with her
marianne at the near end of the conversation actually felt more comfortable talking, as hubert was very calm and composed and almost acted like an anchor, but she tried to excuse herself because of the supposed bad luck
b+ support would be hubert questioning why marianne left--usually he would be unbothered by it, but he felt the need to check on her, which is very un-hubert and he is both intrigued and disgusted by it
once marianne tells him the "curse" he just knocks it all down and calls it wyvern shit in a less crude manner that a curse such exists, because he considers marianne as useful and has many talents
a support would be marianne being gravely injured at war; hubert would gently scold her for not being careful and being reckless and being all of that
but marianne can see that it wasn't anger--it was worry

and they will promise that they'll stay alive, so that they can still chat and 🥺🥺🥺
