I find it a lot easier to explain them when I am at craft shows but I'm going to give it a shot here. A snuffle mat is a 1 foot x 1 foot puzzle for any pet. You can give it to your pet as-is or you can stuff treats or catnip in between the fleece strips, also called "pockets" the deeper you hide the treats, the more challenging for your pet to root around and search for them. They will naturally root and dig and eventually get the treats or nip. I use mine to distract my mastiff from visitors when they arrive at my house. Specifically, I make mine built tough because I have a large dog that loves to chew things up.
